Ignition developing new FPS with Unreal Engine 3

Ignition Entertainment, publisher behind the upcoming Digi-Guys title, Wardevil, announced today that the company has entered into an agreement with Epic Games to license Unreal Engine 3. Ignition plans to use the technology for its upcoming FPS, currently under development at its Florida studio.

"Epic's Unreal Engine 3 is an extremely versatile engine," said Jeremy Stieglitz, Game Director and Lead Designer at Ignition Florida. "So when deciding on technology for Ignition Florida's first next-generation video game, there was no questioning that Unreal Engine 3 is the way to go."

Mark Rein, Vice President of Epic Games commented, "Ignition Florida is pushing Unreal Engine 3 in a very exciting direction, especially in terms of environmental capabilities. These guys have the chops to create some remarkable games, and we have complete faith in their technical and creative abilities."

Ignition Florida's new IP is set to release sometime late 2009.

    Seeing as they used it for Unreal Tournament III on the PS3, I think it'll do rather well.

    lol there are like 4+ games using the unreal engine.

    Im pretty interested in Wardevil that looks promising.

    Just so there is no confusion...Igition is NOT licensing the Unreal Engine for Wardevil. The Digi-Guys are using their own engine for that....

    an rpg shooter would be fine like fallout3 but odds are its going 2 be a cheesy game like haze

    Unreal Engine 3 is the best so far to my standard.More FPS games are coming out within 6 months, its not to bad to make another.Cant wait to see what it will be.

    Wooo Hoo yet ANOTHER FPS, are these people running out of ideas, dont you think we have enough already. I am not getting any more FPS's untill Resistance and Killzone

    The question is with FPS games such as COD, HALO, Resistance and Killzone... will this game be good enough to compete???

    psn id: gingo... well we know whatever game they are using it for will suck for the ps3 as nearly every other game using the unreal engine 3 on ps3 has been really bad
