Initial D has been a PlayStation racer from as far back as we can remember and things don't seem to be changing. Initial D has finally been confirmed for the PlayStation 3 according to Famitsu magazine. They have released the first in-game images of the upcoming title, though no release window is indicated. Here is the image from the magazine below, outside of this, there isn't much info released about the title.

Wasn't this also an anime or graphic novel?  Either way it doesn't look very appealing to me.

i loved the anime(not the TOKYOPOP US translations...).  wished they did a back story of how BUNTA bacame the legend that he is before he did the tofu delivery thing.  and is stage 4 the last we'll ever see off PROJECT D?  did they go pro or what?

Initial D, for those of you that don't know of it, tells the story of a tofu delivery boy who becomes a racing legend on the backroads of rural Japan. I guess you could call it Anime with Drifting involved. I am not a big fan of hokey developers who churn out licensed games that are half-a** and a terrible waste of the license (references to almost any movie game ever made etc). I hope that this does not go down the same route, since I am a big fan of the series and its arcade iterations.

another exclusive. sexy. guess it won't beat GT5P's graphics or MS2's total awesomeness but anyway. cool to see that the ps3 is starting to feel like the ps2 did back in the day when it comes to exclusives. now about initial d. don't think i've heard of this franchise before. i'll wait til i c some gameplay videos before i comment about the actual game. and not the ps3 exclusives line-up which if you ask me is unbeatable for the other systems.

I wouldn't mind owning the real car, but they're not easy to find!  Anyways, if it's coming out to the western world, we probably won't get it till 6months after Japan!
