PSU has been receiving many requests from our readers as of late concerning an update on Zeropoint Software’s sci-fi FPS, Interstellar Marines. As a result, we decided to get in touch with the Copenhagen-based studio in order to shed some light on the project.
According to company representative Kristian Waneck, the title remains very much in development behind closed doors, with the studio only too well aware of the frustrations shared by gamers from lack of updates on the title.
"I do appreciate that it's been some time since any news have been send out regarding the development of INTERSTELLAR MARINES, and in that light I totally understand the impatience that some gamers experience," said Waneck.
"We feel a very strong commitment to making INTERSTELLAR MARINES the best game possible, because when it comes down to it, everything we do here at Zero Point Software, is for the love of the game."

In addition, Waneck added that the company is committed to “reaching out” to the gaming community, promising that more information on the title will arrive in due course.
"There's nothing we would like more than to reach out to the community because we believe that a strong and direct connection between gamers and developers is the best way to create great games,” he said.
“There is so much knowledge and passion in the community and we're convinced that tapping into and releasing that potential is a formula for success."
"So we'll be reaching out to create that connection as soon as we can. Unfortunately I can't tell you when that will be. I can however tell you that when we do, it will be an evolutionary leap in the genre."
Interstellar Marines takes the form of a sci-fi hybrid that fuses the cooperative gameplay and military elements of a tactical shooter with the character development and narrative depth of an RPG.
The game looks set to form new standards for player immersion through character awareness, environmental realism, and brand new in-game communication technology. For more details check out our preview here.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

@ 4 Lets wait till we can see a demo or the game gets closer to coming before you call it a flop. We realy dont know a heck of alot about it, and for you to say it won't be good is just dumb.
From what I have seen though and as a FPS fan, I hoping they really do mean what they say and make it a good game.

Justin see what happen with DigiGuys and there title Wardevil.
i'm tired of FPS its way to many of them out there, all of them starting to be the same either human vs aliens, army or horror. so far in when it hit store shelves only mirrors edge shaping up to be new and different.

Heh. The article talks at how revolutionary it'll be and yet... When I first started reading the article... I didn't even know what game it was. First I thought it was the new "Aliens" game and then realised it wasn't, then I thought perhaps that Sci-fi RTS like game Sony is cooking up for the PSN... but then that was shot down too. Now I'm left with a simple shot of a few soldier looking dudes and no closer to knowing what it's about.
That's not exactly a good thing eh? Sure I may be one person out of many... but I follow many a game and atleast know what games contain what, what their claim to fame is (whether I have interest in it or not) and the fact that this looks like another random FPS... again.... isn't good, eh?

I think they're trying to avoid the same hype and deception Haze was, but if they really want to innovate they're gonna have to work hard in giving us something original. Guess only time will tell!
