Jaffe: God of War III already looks 20-30% better

Eat Sleep Play Co-Founder David Jaffe has once again come back to talking about God of War III, reiterating that the footage he previously raved about was not the footage shown during the SpikeTV Video Game Awards. According to Jaffe, the game footage shown in the new trailer is old and the game is already looking 20-30% better.
"What I was raving about has not been shown outside of internal Sony meetings," wrote Jaffe on his blog. "The stuff I saw that I raved about was probably finished 1-2 days before I got to the studios. The Spike stuff I saw had already been turned into Spike so it was 100% older."
"And to give you an idea, the stuff I saw that I raved about looked about 25-30% better than what you see in the Spike footage played on HD. If that’s not exciting and cool enough for you, fair enough. It happened to blow me away and remains the best looking console game I’ve ever seen."

^^^^^^^ i really wish he hears u cause he will whip ur ar*e,and @markwesker this is the first time and i guess it is the last but i really agree with u ,cause i really really think that uncharted 1 was the biggest game since ffviii(8) and nothing can even touch it,but if uncharted 2 is even better than the first, then i guess it will be the BEST GAME EVER.
PS: I AM SO DRUNK.LOL. SO CHEEEEEERRRRRRRRRS

Umm... CliffyB makes comments like that about his own stuff.... Jaffe has not worked on GOWIII at all...... He is a part of a different studio now...

utalkin2me: you obviously don't understand game development real well because they have to get trailers and stuff wayyy in advance before they show the public they probably had that trailer mad a month before the VGAs and i don't see why some of you would think Jaffe would lie, but oh well i guess lol and i don't see how you couldn't be impressed by what was shown, i think some of you are getting a little spoiled

Guys, i garuntee and i promise and i can tell you GOW3 will sell more then Uncharted 2 ...because once the date gets closer you all will see just how big a scale our hero Kratos will end his journey on. Nathen Drake is cool but NOBODY will surpass the greatest warrior that ever graced a video console. :)

Usually companies do this so when the final product releases,the crowds while have something to awe about.That and probably cuz,it would have been to much of a detour to make the latest build into a trailer.

You dont show the most recent footage because it hasnt been made public yet. these things have to go through channels before anyone gives the okay to show it. and they probably didnt even WANT to show it yet because there might be optimization problems that dont show everything at an equal quality.

Played the first two, so if this game turns out as incredible as they are telling us, I'm going to crap all over myself when I get it. I'll be at the midnight release for sure, along with Killzone 2.

There wasn't really anything wrong with the graphics in the trailer. The feeling of awe in the God of War games has come from seeing the spectacular scenery. Like seeing the Temple of the Fates for the first time or seeing Chronos in the first game. The problem with the trailer was that they showed such a bland, colorless environment. If they recreated the battle with the Beast King (I think that was his name) from God of War 2 with this engine I think people would have been blown away.

@ 20 it's GOD OF WAR you already know the gameplay will be nice... The only thing Im worried about is graphics and if Jaffe is right this will be the best game out until something else comes along maybe in 2010. Sony is winning... Best graphics 2007> Uncharted, 2008>Metal Gear Solid,2009 Killzone 2, God Of War 3 , or Heavy Rain already
