Konami announces Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

Posted on June 23rd, 2008 at 12:41 EDT

According to a press release sent out this morning, Konami has confirmed the release window for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. With an expected retail window for this fall (autumn for the Europeans), PES 2009 hopes to rekindle the magic that made it such a classy football title in the past. Konami has recognized this and is refining the title with new features and customization that they have said will "further bridge the gap between PES and the real thing."

Although the rest of the press release was mainly press talk, users can expect improved graphics, better online quality and expanded moves being utilized by your artificial Ronaldinho. We'll see if Konami can pull itself up after the unexpected slip last season.

Hopefully they don't mess uo this time, and perhaps use the PS3 as the main platform? They seen how MGS4 turned out, they could go the same way with PES 2009, uber-footy..

I think I'm gonna try my first footbal/soccer game this year.  I don't buy EA, but who cares because I hear that the one called winning eleven is the best out there.  Is that true?  Or is it this pro-evolution one?  Hook me up please.

@10,
Winning Eleven is the Japanese version of Pro Evo, I've never played Winning Eleven but I'd imagine they're almost identical.

psn id: gingo... fifa looked like it was finally starting to come good last year and i think marginally beat pro evo 2008 so they need to make quite a few improvements to take back the title of being the best football game around
