[UPDATE] Leipzig: Konami reveals Lords of Shadow

Konami has just unveiled brand new console IP known as ‘Lords of Shadow’ during its press conference at the Leipzig Games Convention.

Sounding remarkably like a cross between Castlevania and Too Human, the trailer depicted a lone knight kneeling in an atmospheric church, quickly followed by an almighty crash as a giant creature tears at the roof - shattering any illusion this would be anything but an action title.

The knight pulls out a sword and a whip made of chain, sets his weaponry on fire and takes aim at the monster - cut to the logo and end of the footage.

Nice tease Konami, but we're interested in finding out more. Lords of Shadow is confirmed as an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 release.

Nice, for a second there I thought this was about the new Team Ico game, I get excited whenever I read "Shadow" or "Colossus"

I hope that the push the pss3 like they did with mgs4 even thou its also on xbox360. If they dont hold ps3 game then hopefully all the other dev's see that and stop acting like lil b.i.t.c.h.e.s and follow suite.

Sounds awesome,and Konami hasn't released a bad action game that i can think of,so i've got high hopes.

I think you're misreading I95 SOUTH's post, when he mentions the 360 he's talking about Lords of Shadow.

As for the game, cool trailer, it could be a Shadow of the Colossus type game going round taking down opponents alot larger than yourself.

well, to be honest, im hoping for an RPG. im not sure if Konami have ever really made RPG's, never knew much of them beyond the MGS series, and the PS3 has been REALLY lacking a good RPG aside from oblivion. so come on, please!
