Rumours of Kratos appearing in the PlayStation 3 version of Namco Bandai’s Soul Calibur IV have been dismissed by 1up.com.
The iconic God of War protagonist was said to make an appearance exclusively in the PS3 version of the highly anticipated beat ‘em up, echoing similar platform-exclusive efforts by Namco with Soul Calibur II.
However, the latest 1up podcast has debunked these claims, confirming that Kratos does not appear in the game.
While there is still a possibility that he may show up at a later date by way of downloadable content, for now at least, PS3 owners will have to make do with the equally intimidating Darth Vader.
Soul Calibur IV is due out on PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America on July 29. A European release will follow a few days later on August 1.

Why can't they just make up their minds? Kratos is gonna be in the game then he's not. It's gonna go back and forth and at the end he ends up in the game!! It would be nice since Darth Vader is appearing in the game!
...and how do they now this? Do they have a final build of the game or did Namco said it to them themselves? Besides, Namco can announce Kratos as DLC and release it when the game is released.
psn id: gingo... i can definitely see Kratos making an appearance as DLC but there is very little chance we were ever going to see him in the original game
One really long word.....Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!.
What exactly makes you think it's a case of making up their minds? that fact that a random internet rumor said they might do it? Who started the rumor? does anyone actually KNOW? Because frankly they may not have even ever considered it, and it was never actually even on their radar.
People just constanly accept random internet rumor as fact now a days, As PS3 owners you should know better concidering all the FUD and lies spread by haters for a year and a half. Not to meantion it's the freaking internet, people can say what ever they want and spread it like a plague.
Anyway I'm sure someone will try to make either him or Nariko with the custom character builder.
I'm sad = (
get the heck over it ppl, its not like him being in the game would make alot of since anyway. i mean those long swords vs the weapons of SC? doesnt make since eh? just get over it
@McMasamune
It was a rumor to begin with. There is no minds to be made up because we haven't really heard namco say anything.
It sucks though. I would have loved to see Kratos in that setting. He would fit very well into the timeline and overall design of Soul Calibur.
Why would kratos have different moves? They did a really good job with link as far as I can remember (I didn't play PS2 version) So I can just imagine they would do kratos some justice.
Just as i thought.... still it's better this way, we want more original characters that fit the sc universe not like that starwars bulls***
no kratos what about a dante or virgil for soul calibur?
