Media Create figures for the week ended July 22nd reveal that PlayStation Portable is continuing to remain the most popular of Sony’s consoles among Japanese consumers, though sales of the system, as well as both PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 are down from the previous week.
Sony’s handheld sold a total of 32,894 units, down from last week’s 37,578, with PS2 and PS3 selling a reported 14,059 (down from 15,777) and 12,187 (down from 13,493) units, respectively. Despite this, all three of Sony’s consoles continue surpass sales of Microsoft’s Xbox 360, which has been fluctuating amidst the 2,000-3,000 sales mark for some time now.
As per usual, Nintendo's ubiquitous DS handheld continues to outsell rival machines, cementing the Japanese software and hardware giant yet another successful week at number one. Stay tuned for more information on Sony’s retail success in the coming weeks and months.

Its figures like these that makes me wonder why the heck does the Japan Store on the PSN gets more frequent content updates and has way more selection then the US store.. I understand that they make the darn thing over there but Sony and any other company makes their $$$$ here in the US... So where's the love????
