It looks good, too bad it is just CGI. The characters and the atmosphere of the game in general reminds me of FFVII and VIII a lot

Sqaure Enix has already confirmed that FFXIII versus will be exlusive to the PS3. They stated that after they announced FFXIII going to multi-platform.

After the CG videos, I was hoping for some level desing or some gameplay.

Let it be heard now..that even if this goes multiplatform like XIII I will still be buying this game on day one like I am still buying XIII on day one !!

I'm willing to bet that all the PS3 fanboys who say this looks great now will be denying the ever liked it if it is announced multiplatform like XIII...morons

M$ paid BIG money to get FFXIII ported to their system day one.  There are currently no reports of them buying Versus XIII, and if they don't SE currently has no plans for porting.  I don't want you having to eat your words when it stays exclusive.

Remember that article back in November? Go back and check it out if you missed it. You can't believe anything these guys (SE) say these days... we'll just have to wait and see. We'll probably end up with two more overhyped, lackluster games just like GTA.

actually I think that if it remains exclusive Xbox 360 users might want to get a PS3 to play this game because they have tried out FFXIII and now want more FF. Loosing this exclusive (FFXII) might not be bad at all... and if it helps providing money for the developpers, the game will be even better. But we need to keep versus

O.O Those graphics are WAY better then FFXIII normal! Man, I thought I was looking at real life at one point when i blinked and it showed a character!

If in game were to look like that I'd just want it more. Anyway from the looks of the trailer the main character seems to be a guardian who later turns into a fugitive becuase something happens. Also it looks like the place might be called Rovina because it says something about a reign in Rovina. Then there's something I don't understand and then finally there's the last bit that seems to resemble what means A New World.

I agree that looks nice, but honestly, it's CG. All CG from Square looks amazing, so it's never really anything special anymore. Maybe it's just me, but I'm finding harder to be tolerant of Square anymore and their total lack of anything new(in terms of information or gameplay reveal). This BETTER stay exclusive to PS3 or I'm gonna kill someone

to all the ppl who say things like "omg that is so totally awesome" etc etc.. its only a CG trailer, sure its nice, but youll get over it quickly, it shows no gameplay. i dont know how ppl can say things like, "it looks better then FFXIII" when it shows no gameplay, unless you just like its darker/gothic tone more in general...

I want this a lot more than FFXII. i hope this stays exclusive. please don't make it multi platform $E.

I can't believe everyone is still pissed at Square Enix. I think we can trust them on this one, ESPECIALLY since they put it out there during E3. Besides, thers still that secret FFVII thing that's probably not FFVII. Many things point to it though.

Damn man. Square-Einx why must you NOT release this footage to the public, I'm extremely looking forward to this game alot more then Final Fantasy 13 and I want to see some footage of it. Please be at TGS, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it absolutely amusing that everyone, or most people at least, is saying that this game looks better than Final Fantasy XIII. Absolutely astaounding. Let me say my my reasons for why this is all a huge misconception in part of the users above:

1. This game runs on the same "White Engine" as the "main XIII game". The only way Versus will look good is optimized for PS3, and the difference will be in-game, because;

2. Most importantly, the video shown was pre-rendered. As in... a movie, a cut-scene, not of in-game graphics. ALL pre-rendered cut-scenes will look the same on either console because it's played back as a video file on the console, and not rendered in real-time.

In the end, yes it looks very good, but no, it doesn't look better than XIII's pre-rendered videos. The art style is different, and it seems to look better because you have more scenes in daylight, and all of it is pre-rendered. In contrast, most of the scenes seen in the XIII trailers use the in-game engine, e.g. the scenes where Lightning is fighting guards in the train.

The amazing part about it, as I was talking about in the above paragraph(s) is that just because XIII is multi-plat, Versus XIII looks better by default.

The reason I bought the PS3. And it remains the sole reason. It is only a matter of time that the Prince will replace Cloud Strife.

I get the feeling that old man at the end is the prince's corrupt old man. >_> But that would be the typical, predictable storyline.

which ff is goin multi-platform? im confused i thought it was XIII can someone shed some light? is final fantasy versus different from final fanatsy XIII? im really confused but regardless it looks awsome.

I am really excited about this game

was it my imagination but were the red-haired dude and the bald dude from FFVII in the opening frames of this vid? Then the guy running in looks like cloud.  Hmmm ... I wreckon that FFXIII may see some familiar faces and may even be set in Midgar (it may explain some of the FFVII remake rumours).

Looks great, still to wait for more vids though for my final choice.

@jigglespsu: No they were just two random suits..probably some sort of homage to Reno and Rude..and the guy running is the main character (The Prince) his hair is blue/black whereas Cloud's is blonde..unless this title has VII in its name there is NO way they are connected..they are their own separate stories !!

I know this is a bit out there but losing 13's exclusivity may boost sales of the PS3.
I mean most people with a 360 probably haven't played Final Fantasy before and now that it's on their console they will. So if it turns out to be as amazing as it looks in the trailers then who knows? Maybe it will encourage 360 owners to buy a PS3 to play Versus. I know it's a long shot but if they like it enough and Versus stays exclusive it might just happen.
