Level 5 developing Dark Cloud 3 exclusively for PS3?

According to PSMania, an Italian PlayStation magazine, Level 5 is developing Dark Cloud 3 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
Here is what the article states (translated into english):
"One of our infiltrates, has revealed that Level 5 is working on a new Dark Cloud exclusively for the PlayStation 3. This title will come out in March of 2009, and will be developed using a new open-technology, the Japanese style "Kumo Engine"."
Currently Level 5 is working on White Knight Chronicles which is due out in 2008 and from the sounds of it, they are already thinking ahead and have set Dark Cloud 3 into full production.

If you have not played the first two on PS2 - I strongly recommend you do. PAL regions the first title is known as Dark Cloud (instead of Dark Chronicle). This RPG is in my all time top 10 (and Ive played a lot).

Wait. Didn't level 5 make something like 6 playstation brand titles. not including white knight.
I'd say this is pretty reliable. seeing as how the only other consloe they have supported was the DS. oh and they atempted to make "TRUE FANTACY ONLINE" for the original xbox and then cancled it.

In addition to my personal feeling that the series is very good; GameSpot rates it as "Great" with an 8.1 out of a possible 10 and IGN gives the second in the series a mark of "Outstanding" with an 9.0.

No, that's Factor 5. Level 5 is known for their fantastic cel-shaded JRPG's. Dark Cloud / Dark Chronicle, Dragon Quest and Rogue Galaxy.

That reminds me LittleBigPimp - Rogue Galaxy is hardly meantioned and is sadly an underrated game. Again this is another RPG worth playing if you have not tried it. With all this waiting for games to find there way to PS3 we might have to go back and revisit some of the PS2 titles. All the more reason to have backward compatibility.

Dark cloud 3 is probably going to be great on the PS3. A lot of RPG games that were on the PS2 were not fully justified by its lack of graphic power, hence jagies. But they were good. P.S. I would like to see a PS3 version of Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, and Castlevania. Worth investing in.

I've always wanted Dark Cloud and still do, just never got around to buying it and I had had forgotten all about it. It must be a rare game as I never see used copies of it at retail.
If I'm not mistaken, in Dark Cloud you could build your own villages so they appear in the game as you built them for you to explore?

i love dark cloud i have been waiting for a LONG time for the 3rd instalment ... but ... i have no PS3 :( ... WHY NOT WII OR 360!!! ............. but its coming out in 2009 i have plenty of time to get a PS3 :D ... but i have to perswade my parents ... witch i have a feeling ... its gonna be a no :S

Well FINALLY! I have the official Dark Cloud 2 art book from Japan, and at the back, it says, "Dark Cloud/Chronicle fans! (chronicle is Dark Cloud 2, the English changed the title) A new title is coming!" or something like that. There was a sihlouette of a girl who looked like a nurse, and a weird looking guy who uses swords... Yeah. That's all I got, and I read a little in hiragana. It looks good! X3 Also looks very modern, which is OK, I guess... I can't wait!!!

sweet i just wish i could get it....i had to go get a 360....i loved dc1 and 2 all i can do is hope that they make it for 360 (1 in a 1000000 chance)

awesome, while dark cloud was awesome, and dark cloud 2 was good too. 2 didnt fix the flaws of the first, kind of added more...but yay no matter what.
