According to various online reports, Sony's "Life with PlayStation" had gone live and was available to download.
The reports were right, but not for long. The update was removed from the network soon after it had appeared.
“Today, while testing the application, Life with PlayStation was available for download temporarily, by mistake,” a spokesperson informed Eurogamer.
For those of you who don't know, Life with PlayStation provides dynamic web-based content organized into unique channels that can be browsed by time and location. While you browse any channel, your PS3 contributes to Folding@Home.
We'll be sure keep you informed when Life with PlayStation is set to launch... again. For now, check out the video below to get a better sense of the application.

Looking forward to this cool upgrade. The globe looks a lot nicer than Folding@home's.

First of all, I downloaded and installed the new system update to version 2.43 from my ps3 update feature.then(@ 5pm eastern time, 3 minutes after I read this story on n4g) I installed folding at home. I then proceded to the same spot and attempted to download the same thing again. It told me the file name was changed to life with playastation and do I still want to download. I said yes and then downloaded and installed it. It worked. It still works and to be honest, I dig it.

@12, where the heck did you get the idea that F@H takes up bandwidth? It downloads the info about the work to perform, then does nothing with your bandwidth while it takes at least 8hours of PS3's CPU power and then uploads its results.
