A reliable source close to Capcom has strongly hinted to PSU that Lost Planet 2 will be announced for the PlayStation 3 at next week's E3 convention.

The source stated that Capcom "has some [Lost Planet 2] announcements to make" that will be relevant to PSU's coverage of E3. Considering that we're a PlayStation-only website, we inferred that Capcom will finally confirm Lost Planet 2 for the PS3.

Numerous news pieces throughout the last two months suggested that the game would ultimately arrive on Sony's console. Additionally, the first Lost Planet was announced as a 360 exclusive game, but was released on the PlayStation 3 a year after its Xbox 360 debut. We don't expect such a large disparity between the release of the PS3 and 360 versions of the game this time around.

We'll be going hands-on with Lost Planet 2 and many more games at E3 2009, so stay tuned for our extensive coverage of the expo.

    Yeah its coming

The real question is how long after the 360 version?

If it turns out to be another full priced year old port i will just wait until its $30.

Hopefully its not a bs port like the first lost planet. They should have learned their D lesson by F'n now. Start with the ps3 and then port to the 360 like they did with dmc4

Meh, it's powered by the Framework 2.0 (engine is build on and for the PC and is then is ported to the consoles. It works for the X360 but not so well for the PS3 - as RE5 showed us). No doubt, it will look good, but compared to the X360 version the PS3 one won't just look as good  - I have no need for a half assed port.

PS3 will get a graphically inferior port one year later.

I've got both the PS3 and PC version of the first one and not noticed any differences in graphics. Sure you get a little slowdown on the PS3 with larger Akrids but apart from that it's still fine and fun to play.

With a little luck we could get our console variant around the same time as the other two formats. Actually better bake that a big chunk of luck actually...

@ #1 and #8, this game did not come out at the regular $60 on the ps3.  It was discounted to $40 as sooon as it was released.

If this game is not simultaneously release with the 360. They can forget about me buying it full price. $30 at best or I'll wait for the bargain bins. I never bought the first game since it was a poor port.
