MGS4 Music Customization In Planning

We all know Hideo Kojima was at the Games Convention of 2007, with a MGS4 trailer by his side. After detailing his franchise, Kojima went on to show a MGS4 trailer, which displayed stunning beauty and no freezing this time around thankfully.

After the trailer finished, a fan blurted out a question to Kojima about the opening and closing tracks for the game. Kojima asked if he meant the main music--to which the kid gave a dull "Yeah." He then was about to say something and suddenly said, "I almost slipped, but there might be a special feature where maybe you can play your own favorite tunes."

Simply, Kojima stating that we will gt to play OUR own tunes. But what does it mean? The SDK 1.8's overshadowed custom music feature is actually being used? But we wonder what's the point when an In-Game XMB Overlay is already confirmed to be coming? Or is it not anytime soon?
Stay tuned to PSU for more information on MGS4 and any music customization.

The so called "conformed overlay" is limited at best, it still requires you to turn off the game music outright in order to play your own music from the harddrive (this is assuming the reported method isnt just another hoax) to actually have the game itself integrate your music would be a billion times more preferable to a lame  general streaming solution like the overlay.

I rather have sony put in-game XMB so it wouldn't be up to the developer....But it is acceptable if the music plays in the back ground instead of it over shadowing the audio....

I'll listen to the MGS music anyway. No point in listening to my own. Kind of takes away from the game IMO

I'd only use my own music in something like Smackdown or specific fighters (like Tekken).  Not much else.

they have about 5 differently worded quotes about this and the original one that i read sounded more like he was talking about the original classic metal gear solid theme...if everyone had the EXACT same quote i would believe, but as it stands there is no point as the feature will likely be added in a firmware in the not too distant future

well they have made great soundtracks throughout the series, why would we want to put our own music on?
