MGS4 is PS3's best selling game in Japan

In celebration of the PlayStation 3’s two year anniversary, Famitsu Weekly has published figures confirming that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the best-selling title for Sony’s flagship console in Japan thus far.
Konami’s thrilling conclusion to the stealth-action saga has drummed up 671,706 sales since its launch on June 12, pipping Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds to the post by over 260,000 units.

1. Metal Gear Solid 4 - 671,706
2. Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds - 408,175
3. Dynasty Warriors 6 - 371,443
4. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam - 317,580
5. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 - 316,533
Sony’s black box has shifted 2.5 million units in Japan to date, which means roughly 1 in 4 owners have purchased MGS4. Not too shabby.

Still surprised that it's taken SONY two years to sell only 2.5 million PS3's--I know that economic times are tough, but SONY really needs to revisit their pricing strategy, especially b/c both of their competitors sell systems for at least $150 cheaper.

I agree OVER 9000 PERCENT!!! I love MGS4. I just read the top ten list of games in Time magazine and wow Talk about crap! MGS4 should be number one automatically. HAIL KOJIMA!!!

lol that's great for konami, it might also because of the metal gear teaser also, that got people excited over there. can't wait to hear more on that subject. i think the next Metal Gear game is just going to be multi plat because the power symbol is on everything!! ! + i = O Metal gear 5 going to the wii and 360 and ps3, you never know!!
