Even though the NFL has turned into the "No Fun League" and has pretty much banished all sorts of fun celebrations from professional football, the Madden franchise will finally be letting its users enjoy this new feature.
New for the 2009 version of the game, gamers will be able to control their favorite players to a timely end zone celebration. The days of crossing your fingers and hoping your player will celebrate after a touchdown are history as you will now be in control.
Just a simple push of the "celebrate" button will allow your player to spring into action. If that player happens to be known for his elaborate celebrations (i.e. Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson), then he'll perform some of those that you've seen him do in real life.
The different celebrations will also be dependent on the area of the end zone your player is; for example if your player were to catch a TD over the middle of the end zone by the field goal post, he might go up for a dunk over the goal post. Specific stadiums will even feature their own local celebrations, immediately jumping out is the "Lambeau Leap."
And if you just humiliated your opponent with a great play for a TD and hope to rub it in just a little bit more? Then why not have the ability to steal your opponent's celebration (immediately T.O. mocking Ray Lewis comes to mind), well kiddos that too will be making into this year's game.
Even though Madden 2009 is still some time from its release, fans know it’s never too early to talk football and especially never too early to talk Madden. Stay tuned for the latest updates as they come along.

Soooo. NOW is it worth $60? Listen, I'm not paying $60 for a roster update anymore. I'm not even one of those guys that keep asking for more features, you know? It's football! They've been doing it for years...it's football. But they are literally charging $60 for (1)a roster update and (2)an "annual" online fee (because Madden 08's servers will be defunct soon after 09 is released). So after 15 years of on-and-off Madden (getting all copies from 2001-2007), I swear I will never get this game again until they switch to a system where they RELEASE AN EDITION OF THE GAME THAT STANDS FOR 3 OR 4 YEARS (which they kinda do anyway), AND CHARGE FOR THE ROSTER UPDATES. 5 bucks an update...not $60. Madden sales were down 13% last year though console sales were up. I see here that EA must think that was a fluke, and that it's business as usual. I ask you guys to join me in showing them that last year's drop in sales was no fluke.
I used to get every madden game from 03-08. But I was so dissapointed with the way 08 came out on PS3 that I am not goin to get 09 no matter how much better it is. There just isnt enough difference every year to make me say "Oh I want that!" It is basically just a roster update and a few tweaks here and there. I will probably buy madden games every other year now like my freind does. So for now, I wont give a damn about madden until 2010. With all the games coming out this year, I dont think there is room for madden anyways, its just dosent stand out anymore.
Just as long as they fix the 10...I mean 30fps issue I really don't care.
I hope the put in Ronde pointing to his name when returning a pick!
@MercRecon

meh...
I suck at Madden anyway... never could beat ANY of my friends.. no end zone celebrations here...
Give up the licenses EA so we can play a real football game NFL 2k, but we know that won't happen because they got too scared of what 2k was doing and now since NBA 2k clobbers Live every year they wanna buy that too. must have been taking lessons from there cousins micro$soft. If you cant beat'em, buy em
Never bought a Madden game myself. I love football but I can't see spending $60 on EA's shovelware. If it gets some good reviews, I'll consider it.
