We’d like to thank you for reading in on our first entry into the Member Spotlight vault. This is meant for the forum and the sites readers to get a better insight to the character behind the username. The first person we chose and felt was very deserving of this spotlight, was Uncool.
Uncool has been a longstanding member with PS3’s forums for well over a year and a half. During this time, a lot of you have seen him go from being one of the regular guys, to being a guy you see on the moderator’s team of members. Now that we’ve gotten the chance to talk to him one on one, we’ve been able to take a further look into not only his PSU.com history, but a part of his humorous personality as well. We hope you enjoy the read.
David Wales: What does psu.com and its forums mean to you? You've obviously put a lot of time and energy into it, so we'd like to know what kind of part it plays in your life, even though just an internet site.
Uncool: You could've called me out as a super stealth troll against the 360/Wii back then. Now, I actually appreciate the aspect of enjoying all three consoles: 360 gives me pink eye, PS3 mad mudbutt, and Wii, the awesome batting average of a major league player with a dislocated shoulder. Seriously, this site did some good for breaking down stereotypes and educated me about what to listen to and what to muffle out. You’ve got to take the good with the bad, there is no end all be all console. Technology advances and the mindset of gamers changes with that.
David Wales: Sounds like a good grasp on the idea behind just being a normal gamer, you obviously have a definite advantage being able to enjoy all tools of the trade. What’s some of the crazier things you’ve seen suggested or perhaps done on the forum itself?
Uncool: I’ve seen it all from rep rebellion to mod takeovers to admin toppling, and sp laundering, yeah that about covers it; and of course taking over as the current Siren of the forum (without the tech savvy). I make sure we don't have too many trolls on here. Besides, everyone likes a good banned list with comical input right?
David Wales: Some of the infractions I've seen sure have a comical side to them; some kind of boggle me as to why they even were considered infractions. As a mod, do you guys have a set list of things you're told to watch for or do you all have your own personal line of cleanliness that gets to decide which side is too far over the divider?
Uncool: I actually wrote a bible, so to speak, about how to approach trolls, especially stealth trolls, as I was once one of them. It’s kind of funny that PS3forums has a Stealth Trolling Mod working for them huh?
David Wales: Well, it's kind of like the FBI recruiting the top hackers to work off the damage they cost on the other side of the law. It sounds like a good solution to unearth the problem behind it. Do you happen to have a member on the forum that you look forward to seeing posts from, whether comical or serious?
Uncool: Definitely, there are some people here that are too funny to even be considered normal members. Minimal for instance, even Carsonal. Anyone who's seen these guy’s posts, know they’re downright hilarious. On a serious note, I do look also at veteran posters that think they are untouchable, even for most of the staff to either ban or restrict from posting.
David Wales: Do you have an example of one of those posters?
Uncool: Anyone who remembers GSKid/Mbbest can tell you that these guys were untouchable from what most people thought of here, if the staff was scared of getting rid of them (primarily GSkid). It doesn't matter if I like a member here a lot, if they ... (continued on next page)

what is a troll?..... would "the_cleaner" be considered a troll?.... because he spred lies every chance he could..??.. and used the comments sections like its his personal space for propaganda preaching?.... cuz if your not banning people like this... then maybe "trolls" needs to be more clearly defined....

good way to show and appreciate your members PSU this could turn favorable. It would be best if no one figures me out though lol too much that its bad for your health lol
