Metal Gear Solid 4 ships nearly four million worldwide

Metal Gear Solid 4 has shipped 3.94 million units worldwide, according to a recent sales report from Konami.
We don't know the exact number of copies sold, but about one out of every four or five PS3 owners has purchased Metal Gear Solid 4. Simply put, there's a lot of tactical espionage action going on.
With sales that have started to become slightly sluggish in Japan, will the game reach the lucrative five million sold mark before the end of the year? We think so. Leave your input in the comments section below.

Amazing... Who says exclusives on PS3 don't sell well? Hopefully deveolpers look at these sales numbers and realize its not the system that sales, its the game. Kudos to Kojima and I hope he's happy with the sales because I'm glad he chose PS3 as the system for MGS. @7: Idk if there will be a subsistance, i thought it was said that MGS4 filled the entire Blu-Ray disc, that's why they had totake out the Jap. voice-over work.

It will probably get at a min 4.5mil, this is the best game on the market currently! I wonder if Little Big Planet can topple it!

anyways i say 5mill or more.. its only ben out for a month and a half and allready allmost 4 mill.. so we got another 4 months left in this year,so ima go ahead and shoot for 5.5 mill or 6.
the greatest story ever told and the greatest game ever made.
and no xbox,or xbox 360 has ever gotten as many 10's as a rating in its greedy chearleading history so booo...yaaaa mofo's.

You're entitiled to your own opinion, but not many games ship or sell that much so I don't truly understand your point in this. Also flaming the guy will(most likely) just provoke him into saying something back and before we know it we need to delete comments off of this.
Anyway congrats to MGS4 for selling this much, it deserves it.

I'm sorry 19, greater sales don't make a greater game. I'm an avid halo player, literally hours a day, but if given the choice between halo the rest of my life or Metal Gear Solid, Snake wins every time!!!!!!!!!!! It's a superior game, with superior gameplay, a superior story, superior development and it's just halo's better in every way.

2,6 million are sold so far to customers acording to vgchartz, so i highly doubt it is gonna sell more then MGS2 since that game sold 5 million.
But Since this game is definatly a must have game, i think sales will rise a lot with christmas

MGS4 deseverves that ammount of sales. Its so good. The graphics are unreal - Proves that the Cell isnt all that hard to work on if you actually try.

Hm.. I've got some money, a Dual Shock 3 or MGS4. That is the question.
I think I gonna buy a DS3. Because I gonna sell my SixAxiS and buy two DS3s.I'm saving money for Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet and Motorstorm 2. MGS4 and Killzone 2 will be later on.

MGS4 is as good as it gets. I've never played that style of game before (never even seen the previous games in the series), and I'd buy it again in a heart-beat! Really, this is how games should be. It's virtually perfect, and it deserves to sell 10 million copies... although by the end of the year I would predict maybe half that.

yeh i gotta say i always look for faults but this game has gotta be the best for this gen of consoles not even being a fanboy when i say this but it totally destroys gow 1 n 2 when its comes out,the only thing that will beat this will be a another ps3 exclusive and still this game will probly go down as a all time classic,in 10 years from now u will be telling ur kids to play mgs4.
