Propaganda. MGS4 won't be coming to 360, but Micrsoft shouldn't be too proud of having a title which is Multiplatform, Sony has way more exclusives and there are more to come so people need to stop whining.

Meh, that fat turd doesn't have a ton to brag about. Microsoft only managed to make 1 FFXIII game multiplatform, except for in the country with its strongest fanbase.  FFXIII is still exclusive in Japan, and FFXIII: Versus is PS3 exclusive WORLD WIDE.

While not a huge victory, it still p1sses me off that Sony has spent too much time and money fighting the HD war than it has been securing exclusives in the console war.

LOL we got exclusives from the 360 like Lost Planet, Bioshock, Eternal Sonata, and more. So there are a lot of multi platform titles.

The question here is, who has the better of the few exclusives? Sony is absolutely dominating in that department, with past and future exclusives. Tomorrow, with Sony's showing, Sony's dominance will just grow larger.

I'm sorry to hear about FFXIII also going to XSLOP360.  I'm not a fan of FF myself, but it was cool the it was a PS3 exclusive anyway.  I have no doubt that Micro$haft paid a lot of money for it.   What happened between Square Enix and Sony? It seemed like business relationship was strained already.

i really couldnt care less about all this stuff, fair play to microsoft, people are moaning that they have just thrown money at devs to gain titles, but it is a buisness, and they are doing a pretty good job of it(excluding all the money lost on faulty consoles), if sony had some sense theyd start doin the same, on the flip side i dont really care what games go multiplat, aslong as i can enjoy them on my ps3 its all good, and currently the only games that i like on the xbox are bioshock, and the gears series. and we are getting one of those, and the gears games i just enjoy with friends on their 360's, so all in all, no big deal

I was a little ticked when I heard of FF XIII, and even though I don't play many RPGs, I find it funny that MS is losing quite a few top-notch games as well.  Bioshock anyone?  I mean, sure, MS got a piece of 1 FF game, and they bought out a few more (DMC4, GTA IV, RE5) but as long as Sony has the most diverse line-up, they'll never win.  I really think they should concentrate on putting their money into making reliable consoles instead of games you can't play if it fails.

I also got a good laugh today when MS claimed they had the most diverse line-up of games.  They attacked the PS3 but didn't touch the Wii.  MS is scared because anyone who wants to play FF is going to have to get a PS3 eventually.  Sony's first party exclusives are much more diverse.

Did anyone see MS's numbers? $1 billion spent on Xbox Live.  Wow.  Do people really want to pay $50 a year to have a group slideshow of photos?  I don't mind the price, but for what you get?  Halo 3 servers are terrible for what I pay.

 For all those licking their wounds and trying to play this off like it doesn't matter: I feel your pain. I know it's tough and this decision is going to haunt Sony for months leading up to the release of the game. But if anything I think this actually makes FFXIII less special. It's like having a friend with benefits. Sure it's fun for a while but do you really like the idea of another guy getting the same action you're getting? And on the same day?

Why Sony didn't lock this down with as much money as possible is beyond me. Did SE make this decision on their own without consulting Sony? Is the relationship with third-parties in jeopardy? The good news is that this was the last of the big third-party games. Everything else Sony has are licenses they own. Like we'll never see Halo on the PS3 (wouldn't get it even if it did) so we have nothing to fear when it comes to Kratos, Ico, Gran Turismo and others. 

The biggest problem Sony has at this E3 is trying to top that announcement. Shy of announcing a partnership with Apple and releasing the iPSP I don't think they have anything in the cards that's as big as the FF news. Maybe dropping the price to $299 but even then it will look desperate in light of the FFXIII news.

Ok so this is bugging me now.MGS4 on 360 would work on multi-disc release like blue dragon or Lost Odyssey.Now before you slate me im a GAMER so i care not what console a GOOD GAME is on(Like a GAMER  should do).BUT break MGS4 down to what you actually play.5 Small areas with little need for draw distance,No sort of speed required because you move slow.and a play time of 6-8 hours tops of play.Remember the game clock does not stop during cut scenes so if you skip them on your second run through you will see what I mean.I have been a sony fan since Playstation 1.But the main focus for them now seems to be FPS and the odd 3rd person.They cant seem to get anything right on the ps3.Look at the genre line up on Xbox 360 FPS,3rd Person.RTS,RPG,Racing,Flight SIM,Arcade,Retro,Soon to have N64 retro(With nintendo logo it is confirmed with banjo).I dont see why GAMERS would care if a game is multi-platform.I mean FF XIII will have an even bigger fan base now,and im happy for Square-Enix if this happens.To be Honest I have and play both PS3 and a Xbox 360 Elite and there is little to no difference.I have seen new 360 gameplay footage of fallout 3 and to be honest it has little to no difference in terms of graphics compared to somthing like MGS4.I think the notion of being a GAMER seem to be lost nowadays.If a game sells better for a company been a Multi-Platform release then all the better for them.I have been a game for 22 years and have seen alot of good companies go bankrupt.So as a Gamer if it helps the devs im all up for it.Just buy it on whatever console you want and ENJOY the game.

MGS4 won't go to 360, Kojia isn't the sort to spend many month just porting a game. On GT bonus round, a MGS4 episode. They had someone from the Official Playstation mag who had played through it twice before the games release. He said there is more to it than just porting the code, as many of you would know playing through the game yourselfs. It seems alot of work, time and money would be needed for a port.

 WHAT? Microsoft is getting FF13? I guess it's really not surprising. Well Sony, it was good knowing you, but obviously you can no longer compete in this market. It's kinda wierd really because a couple weeks ago people were complaining about star ocean going the MS, and everyone was saying "at least we still have FF13" but obviously this is no longer the case.  Multi-platform isn't a bad thing for the xbox 360, but it is for the ps3 because the titles are never as good as it's 360 counterpart. I'm just tired of all the BullS**t. 2 years for in-game xmb, then it bricks peoples ps3's, and their losing all the games that people bought the system to play. Lame.

Seems to me that Microsoft is trying to emulate everything that Sony does. The avatar seems like Home Lite, Lips is like Singstar, adding pinatas in a fashion similar to the card reading function in Eye of Judgement, and snagging every JRPG they can get, and then getting rid of the blades interface. Though they have plenty of third party support (many third party games that Sony has, MS has)... their first party strength is lacking. Gears of War and Halo aside (and they are FANTASTIC games) they have little else. I own both the 360 and PS3, and Sony just has a ton of first party exclusives that make it worth while.

 Well, this isn't a huge surprise, especially with SE's more recent actions.  The thing is, this isn't terrible for the PS3.  It's just the way the market is this generation.  MS braggin g about this though.  I guess they can, but only from the standpoint of Sony having those exclusives LAST gen.  Isn't it all about the now?  Bioshock anyone?  Bottom line, as I've said before the exclusives will come down more to each 1st party this generation.  Sony has the FAR AND ABOVE lead there.  MS is actually LOSING 1st party developers.  Sony will always have more exclusives this gen, that's just it.  Unless MS pays a LOT more money, 3rd parties will go more and more MP and it will come down to the 1st parties where Sony has 10x the developing power and is just starting to show it.

Personally, I'm interested to see just how many DVD9's this game will take.  Won't make it bad, just like 10+ cd's back in the day was just "how it is."  But for a game this long in development, I for one expect it to be HUGE.  Let's see...

This saddens me greatly to see that FF is moving to Xbox.  But we knew things like this would happen.  Microsoft has been throwing money around to push this.  Take this plus the drop in price it will really stop the many sales ps3 would have had.

 IMHO this was the worse news i have heard for the ps3.  i have been a playstation faN since the original playstation and has been happy since.  even with all my disc read error ps2 consoles i have just managed to purchase a new ps2 by mowing lawns and walking dogs.  im sorry to say that the sequel, prequel games are not just gonna cut it for me.  its like playing it over and over again.  playstation is just becoming a moviestation and if the ps3 owners dont start buying more games and showing support.  playstation will die off.  and if sony doesnt bring something big to the table tommorw im going to have to say good bye to my ps3 and welcome the xbox into my entertainment center.  i bought a 60gb on release. i have owned the 20gb and 40 gb ps3.  i even bought my hdtv for playing games.  and i will no longer support the console if all they care about is movies..  i have never posted on the site but have been here for some time, but this news is terrible and i must say i had to just let my final support plea out. and maybe MGS4 wont be coming out for the 360, but the next metal gear will.

No, he has a good point. IMO the only reason the PS3 can continue competing is because blu-ray won the format war. There's no need for this discussion about the "console war" because obviously MS has already won. Luckily I own both consoles, so I am fortunate enough to enjoy the best of both, but that doesn't change the fact that the Playstation brand is not what it used to be. It's unfortunate really, but I don't care which console good games are released on, I just want to be able to play them, and Sony's system isn't delivering(with the one exception being MGS4). I'm just waiting for MS to officially announce the "next-box" and it's 2010 release. I guess we'll have to wait for E3 09.

pretty much anything now a days have bugs.  you cant tell me that ps3 doesnt have bugs. look at update 2.0 for example.  a firmware update and it crashed a few systems.  a friend of mine has had to take 2 40gb consoles back to gamestop because his system bricked.  my 20gb component output black screened.  my iphone, my zune, and i know it isnt just me. its eveywhere.  fact of the matter is anything electronic is bound to failure at one point or another.  and if bugs wasnt the case. they wouldnt have pushed socom back.  home would be released. so bugs and harware failures isnt even a valid argument.

really it is xbox over heating and sound is a design flaw every xbox is bound to fail becuse of hardware failure due to over heating during normal use and not at hardcore gamer use at some point and microsoft knows it. if they werent worried about the xbox sales they wudnt bother trying to buy every excusive they can they kno xbox time is running out and trying every thing in the power to slow ps3s momentum because i remeber fondly of m$ claim that motion sensing is not what gamers want and it is not next gen but lord behold M$ is developing their own motion sensing controller proof enough

Windows OS software did not come from ibm.. bill gates programmed DOS (Which is the platform windows is based on) and IBM was the first computers to implement it...  and i dont care how bad or good of a game FF13 is gonna be. my point is why would sony let a great exclusive just go to a competitor when that would be a major selling point.  think of it this way. if MGS4 was multiplat would the ps3 have had such a sales boost?  or another scenario if Socom was to go multi  how many ps3's would be traded in at their local game stores?  i feel that this move was a huge mistake and lost sony lots of loyal fans and hardware sales.

It works both ways!!  Bioshock...coming to PS3, Lost Planet... now on PS3, Ace Combat 6...coming to PS3, the sequel to Dead Rising...coming to PS3... DLC for GTAIV... is only a timely exclusive, every chance it could come to PS3!!!  All the above are money related as will FFXIII... games are NOT cheap to make anymore hence the reason exclusives dont stay exclusive for long!  I really believe this is something us gamers will have to get used to regardless of which console we choose!  Microsoft just seem to make a big thing of it, you very rarely hear Sony bashing them...regardless of what they do!  They just take it on the shoulders and get on withit, which is what everyone else should do!

I personally don't like MS or the xbox(360). But multiplatform games mean more money for the developers so they can make better games.(although most xbox users i know all play copies of the original so not much money to make there). On the other hand a multi platform game has shown to b a bad thing when it comes to pushing to the limit of a console. MGS looks amazing(installl times are not great and should have been done differently but still) as for GTA IV also a great game but it's definitley not pushing the consoles to the max npt on xbox or on ps3. But in the end all that does matter is that we get the games we want so we can play. So in my oppinion better a multiplatform game than no games at all.

The way I see it, it's just an admission by MS that for all their crowing, Sony has always had the better games. And in many cases, still does.

MGS4 better stay where they are cause if it does i will be mad at Konami for doing this sort of thing, however even it werent going Multiplatform - they could have announced it last years at E3 so there is a slight chance that MGS4 will not going to 360 after all.

I wonder what square enix will think of all the money they will have lost due to how easy it is to pirate the games on the 360.

The real problem is that they have done FFXIII basicly only for the US 360 market seeing as that's the only place where the 360 has sold in any major amount.

Konami would absolutely port MGS4 to th e360, but that game was designed for the PS3.  You are talking about a major reworking, from multiple discs to changing the PS3 in-jokes inside.  FF13 (I believe, and I know I''m right) was being designed for the 360 all along.  So the game is going to be sub-par anyway.  But don't worry about the score, 'cause just by going multiplat, it gained 2 points to give it a 9.5 instead of the PS3-hating 7.5 it would have gotten if it was exclusive.

A superior machine should have kicked the living s#!+ of that crappy 3box. They have nothing, Armored core- lost, Ace combat -lost, devil may cry- lost, NOW FF?? Ive suported them I was a fanboy until right now! I am done with sony. They have done NOTHING to win this, crappy ads, not holding on to the companys that supported them. I hope the ps3 looses everything else, Im buyina a crappy xbox360.

I don't get it. Either the 360 version of FFXiii will be stored on about 3-5 DVD discs, or the game is going to suck f-ing big time. I actually believed it was going to take maybe two Blu-ray discs, or AT LEAST a dual layered Blu-ray disc. But if they can fit the game on a DVD, it's catastrphy.

To make a good looking game this generation, and at the same time make it last more than 8 hours, you'll need a bigger storage format than DVD9. This game SHOULD NOT be possible to port to X-box 360.

 yea multi platform is more money for developer.  but then they start to realize that why go multi when the 360 sells more games than the ps3?  thats what is making me so mad is sony isnt even fighting for it

i wouldn't brag if i were you microsoft.  you use money to get these companies to pay any attention to your console.  once the ps3 puts your system in the dust, you will have to pay even more money to get the games.  i have a friend who has a ton of money and he likes to brag about the chicks he's digging out.  it's all good, but we find out that he's tricking off tons of dough just to do that.  i have nothing against dropping some cheese on a nice date, but dude is buying rings, jewelery, sending them on trips.  and when he stops spending they stop spreading.  sony is doing this the right way.  once you start paying these clowns, they will expect it everytime and when you stop, they will stop developing for your system.

ff13 was the only thing that i was really looking foward to,how sh(t is ff13 gonna be if its gotta fit on a dvd,i mean ff13 should be massive going by past games so should be alot bigger then mgs4 yet msg4 could not fit on a dvd ,so whats going on,nah defo not getting ff13 now ,just aint gonna be right, and after this i think its over for ps3,360 will win now,its got fallout 3dlc,it gets red alert3 n tiberium wars which was cancelled for ps3.gta4 dlc,ff13,re5 and god knows what more n its cheaper then the ps3,after losing exclusives sony only have blu ray.big wow

sony really has to use some cash if they expect the ps3 to do good as in the start u will need to buy the exclusive games and content and in the start it will be expensive but u will get it repaid if u do it right!

Say goodbye to exclusivity. I wouldn't have a problem with FF XIII going to XBOX360 if we in return would get Halo or Gears of War and anyone who's now says: " Oh Halo and Gears of War are dumb anyway!" are just retarded Fanboys....
