More evidence Star Ocean: The Last Hope is Xbox only

To begin: Star Ocean fans, we're sorry. Not only has Square Enix made official statements that they currently have "no plans" to bring Star Ocean: The Last Hope to the PlayStation 3, but new advertisements for Star Ocean have been popping up with the "Only on Xbox 360" slogan stamped on the side.

According to Destructoid, on the inside the manual for Infinite Undiscovery, there is an advertisement for Star Ocean: The Last Hope with the "Only on Xbox 360" logo on the lower right hand corner.

With the title announced at Microsoft's RPG Premiere 2008 event in Tokyo earlier this year, this news doesn't really surprise us. Just add The Last Hope to the ever-growing list of Square Enix disappointments.

    I still think the press for this game has been too confusing.  Is this Star Ocean 4 or not?  Cause I think Star Ocean 4 is still coming to PS3, just not 'The Last Hope'.

    We know MS eats their foot with this label.  Most of their titles with this label end on PC as well or are released a year later.  Lost Planet anyone?  SE really has gone downhill with abandoning the PS Star Ocean fans who have been with the series for so long.  We're getting the first 2 on PSP and they won't give us the 4th on PS3?

    The "Only on Xbox 360" stamp has been on multiple other games that eventually made there way over to PS3. Still, it's a shame if this is true. I've never played a Star Ocean game before, but they look great and I would have liked to try it - and what would have been better than this? A sequel (from what I've read) to the other games in the series. The true Last Hope is TGS...PS3 is in desperate need of RPG's and, other than White Knight Chronicles, I can't see us getting many more.

    timed exclusive im guessing. typical of there recent money grabbing attitude. Noone give me tht business crap either, coz they probs make roughly the same if released on 2 if not 3 console

    The main thing that I'm really, really annoyed about, is the fact that at one point this year, Square Enix stated something along the lines of "We don't want to support one console more than the other." WTF?!!!! Then what is this, SE??  The only PS3 exclusive left from SE, is FFXIII Versus.  And what has 360 got? They've got Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Infinite Undiscovery not to mention the fact that they broke their promise and gave 360 FFXIII!  Another thing, what happened to the big announcement that will "shock everyone"??  Was it the FFXIII demo coming with the Advent Children Blu-ray? That was it??  And now there's a rumour they might sell the demo??? WTF??!!!!!  So much for not supporting any one console over the other!!

    Anyway, I'm not being a fanboy here, it's just that SE are being a really stupid (and seemingly money-hungry) and not keeping to their word.  I really like their games, but they just keep on disappointing.  I'm holding on to the thought that Nomura will keep XIII Versus or KH3 (if his team makes one) exclusive.  I know, it's probably not up to him, but from what I've heard, he wants to keep Versus on PS3 only, so that's got to mean something.

    I've never got into the Star Ocean series nor no much about them. For those who are big fans of it though, I'm sorry to hear this. SE continues to fail and walk down the path of the dark side.

    Good god SE, more of this crap. Like NemmyN00 said, what happened to the "We don't support one system" statement they made a while ago. I can live with 360 getting FF13, cause I really don't care about it, but Last Rement has an uncertain release date on the PS3, no Star Ocean, anything else you want to give to 360. Sony really needs to reconsider their "We don't pay for exclusives" stance.

    @9 Either you havn't played the franchise or you just decided to add your retarted two cents in.  Was it REALLY that important for you to add that?  Anyways, I highly doubt this is going to stay on 360 only.  They will eventually port it, thats the only smart thing to do.  True we might have to wait a while but look at Bioshock and all the cool stuff we're getting.  Maybe we will have the same luck.  Patience is a good thing to have, any real SquareEnix fan knows that.

    This my nail in the coffin. Everyone was hurt dearly by the Final Fantasy XIII announcement. So was I, but I decided I'd at least support Square Enix for one more title, but, to make Star Ocean an Xbox exclusive? Un-facking-believable. Seriously. Thats going way to facking far. Screw square-enix. Level 5 and Atlus RULE

    @16 i'm with you on that one, KH3 needs to stay on PS3, i don't mind spin-offs on portable systems like PSP, and the DS but this is one franchise that needs to stay with Sony.

    @21 yeah your right, I've been reading the infinite undiscovery reviews and its not getting the scores i thought it would have gotten. It now has a 71 Metacritic average, pretty mediocre i have to say.

    The ONLY ON XBOX 360 sign is a joke, they did it with Lost Planet, Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms, Overlord, Saints Row, Dead Rising and even Bioshock, and they all are now on or going to be on other platforms, rendering that ONLY ON 360 thing useless, and false. Whats next? Left 4 Dead? Mass Effect 2?

    Star Ocean will make an appearance on PS3 someday, its published by Square Enix, not microsoft, so they havent made an exclusive agreement, it could end up like bioshock.

    POW! Squenix jabs fans in the gut yet again. A knockout seems imminent.

    How many times must I say this: whyyyyyyy would anyone hoping to get the next Star Ocean have sided with the 360 in the first place? It just isn't where the action is for this title. I didn't get into SO until 'Till The End of Time,' and it was a friggin' blast. I woulda bought this title day one on PS3. Instead its just another bullet in my gun which I'm aiming at SE.

    Although I agree that there is little chance this will stay a CrapBox title, why make that deal? OK the cash up front and under the table from MS was probably nice, but just think about how fast this game will die now that it will be able to be pirated. The sales won't pass muster versus the overhead costs. Sound business sense my eye.

    Also, cmon, the japan market will want this title, but once again they won't buy a crapbox to get it. Smart cookies.

    everybody knows that companies need a profit off a game but with Square/Enix, they are completely stabbing there older fans in the back which more then made up for there success with the whole FF series.  This is just to bad, seems like SE doesn't even give a crap, it's all money to them now.  I know that companies need money and it's a business, but don't say that bs now when SE supported PS2 exclusively, well almost.   Personally I haven't been a fan of the FF series to much that includes their other RPG's.   No support from me, only because they have lied twice so far.    I wont make a dent even if I don't buy them but the point is I wont support this company that has done nothing but spit out lies for the past few months.

    As Long as Normura is the director of FF Versus 13 and KH3 I Cannot see those games goin to the 360 and or Wii because Normura is like Kojima They See the True Potential with the PS3 and they use it unlike all these other developers who use the 360 to develop their games first and then port it to the PS3 is just crappy for all PS3 user because were goin to take a hit the Lackluster/Out of Date 360 Gaming. I believe that ANY Games that go Multi-Console should first start and be finished for the PS3 maxing out the PS3 Full Potential and then port it to the other system even if it take the developers to use 5-8 DVD discs for the 360 not the Other Way around...

    If ps3 get kingdom hearts exclusive then i dont mind. I played Star ocean 3 and it was fun, but not that great. And the ending blew Spoiler**(the entire world was in a video game)**

    Played all the other star oceans on the playstation and now I need to get another system to play it on? I think ill pass and wait for another RPG title on my playstation console. Thanks anyway Queerenix for the backhand
