A couple of new details have emerged in regards to MotorStorm2 and they’ve come directly from the game developer’s mouth. Their first title has been a huge success for the PlayStation 3 console and the dev team has always kept its fans occupied with new content regularly, so it comes as no surprise that they’re already giving out information about their sequel installment. Once again, we’re able to provide direct information from the developer’s fingertips via a blog post.
“Happy new year everyone, I hope you all enjoyed the holidays, I know I did!
The majority of us are now all back in the office, slugging away to make our next game the best we've ever done, so all you lucky people can enjoy the very best that our future games will have to offer! And on that note, I'd like to have a quick chat about what I'm currently working on for the sequel to MotorStorm: the GUI (Graphical User Interface). We've been working on the design of the GUI for several months, taking what we did for MotorStorm and throwing it out the window, completely starting from scratch.
We've approached the design of the GUI from a fresh angle and I think we've come up with something pretty impressive, both functionally and artistically. At the moment we have a solid design and a basic, functional GUI comprised of placeholder art and text, nothing to write home about! However, we are just about to get started on implementing the incredible art that the Graphic Design team has come up with so we can start getting a real sense of how the GUI will finally work, both visually and functionally. Unfortunately I can't go into any more detail than that at the moment, but I'll be writing more on this as we move further along in development.
Ryan”
We’re pretty confident here at PSU.com that the development team will keep their fans in the know during a big portion of its developmental stages. Some of the things we’d like to see added just so happens to be the much needed split-screen option. It’ll add a whole new dimension to the game to be able to race your buddies offline. What are you guys hoping to see added in the next installment?

Nice... Can't wait to see some screens.
this definitely need splitscreen this time around
Haven't really played the game that much, but I'd like to see a tighter control of driving! First game looks really great, the next should be even better!
go karts. mini bikes.
To: All cacksucka's compaining about Davey Wales articles.
Well shut it, because this article makes up for it.
By the way i liked those small but informative articles posted earlier today.
Yeah what he said *raises fist* any who I need to get better playing the original because all I ever do is blow up my vechiles. XD
The best racing game of 2007 up there with Formula 1, tons of fun, cant wait for MS2 its gonna be twice the fun.
loading times
I agree that splitscreen would be nice....
ditto on splitscreen
This was in the forums over 19 hours ago.
Anyway, I just hope Motorstorm 2 is as good or better than the first. Split screen would already make it better.
loved and finished the first one. can't still get enough of it....when are they releasing the second? i want a date!
Split screen and I'm on baby!
All i care for,is split screen.
Faster load times...man the first one blows. Faster faster faster!
o man i just love the 1st one. can't wait for this one.
psn id: gingo.... i didn't pick up the first one mainly becasue it lacked offline split screen but i'm really looking forward to this one and i really hope they add offline split screen becasue its not a real racing game without some split screen with your friends
I got motorstorm at launch and i still love it, it IS a VERY good game and im sure the addition of split screen and some more varied destinations will make it a must have for any PS3 owner. Cant wait :-)
SOMEONE GET THIS TO EVOLUTION STUDIOS!!!
Here's what Motorstorm needs to be a success!!
1. FASTER LOAD TIMES!!!
2. Two player. My god. it's needed. It was embarassing when i told friends it was only one player.
3. easier... the first is so d*mn hard--I'm still playing it! I have all the tickets but the last, and I've gotten first in all competitions instead of the one where its all mudpluggers on a small track. They just block the way. it's impossible to beat unless you get really lucky. Maybe they shouldn't have so much rubber-banding either.
4. WINDSHIELD WIPERS!!!!! The screen just gets clouded all the time. It woulda been nice if we had some windshield wipers with the touch of the L1 button. Tapping triangle twice just isn't as cool as watching it getting cleared up quick, and it makes me almost crash every time, because you have to pay attention constantly, not to die.
5. more mud! With winshield wipers enabled, more mud would be awesome to wipe away. we could see the residue streaks and everything :)!!
6. Environment changes. Change more than the time of day. Change the weather. Throw in some rain and make the tracks extra muddy, or make it a hot day and make everything solid. Put a route in that can only be taken once--when someone drives across it, it falls apart. Heck, why not throw in a strike of lightning here or there?? Maybe striking a car? That would piss me off, but if it hit the AI I'd L.M.A.O.
7. More tracks. Just... more.
8. More music. I memorized the music tracks in the first. And a couple are annoying >< I love "lets have a good time" "rollercoaster" "if lovin me is wrong, then godd*mn you do it right" and some others. The hick ones are annoying. My big red rocket of love? Ugh. ditch it. Either more music, or give us the option to play our own :) I always wondered what motorstorm would sound like with some techno playing haha. Like a tekken soundtrack or something haha.
9. Better online. Lets face it... the online set up bites. I was so excited for it, and when i got to it, all there was was wait times and... losses. haha
and finally
10. better fire graphics and a reaction from shrubs when you pass by. Both of those in the first game just suck--granted they don't take from the experience much at all though.
Those are the ten things Motorstorm 2 absolutely needs!

1080p and splitscreen are important. I'd love if it let you use the tracks from #1 (including the downloads) as well!
