MotorStorm 2 out by Christmas, says BBC

A reporter for the BBC attending the Game Developers Conference last week has revealed some interesting tidbits on a number of upcoming projects for Sony’s PlayStation 3 console.
Among the more notable elements of his report include details on Evolution Studios’ forthcoming racing sequel, MotorStorm 2, which he claims is scheduled to hit shops in time for the 2008 Christmas holiday season.
The high-speed off-road romp will take players across a variety of new environments, including those set on tropical islands “full of interactive vegetation.” A four-player split screen mode has also been confirmed.
However, perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the report comes in the form of a nameless title due for release on PS3 in 2009; though sworn to secrecy under a Non Disclosure Act, the blogger notes that the mysterious title looked so impressive, he feels that Sony could be on the verge of making the next step “in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion.”
Those of you who feel obliged to speculate as to the identity of this title should feel free to do so in our comment section below.

is there any pics or trailers anywhere for motorstorm 2? i would love more than anything for a game to be made by sony themselves, the mastrs of ps3, the ones who know everythin about it, be taken and have a title that fully, FULLY- displays its power in ALL categries, realisticness, graphics, and the rest of the latter, perhaps this is it?

Motorstorm 1 turned me off at one point and it was the first day that I played it. I expect more from an Exclusive title advertised the way Motorstorm was in the states.
I am driving a good speed and I am nearing a small ramp where there is a helicopter on a platform behind it already cranked on with the wings spinning. I said to myself, I am going to fly right up into those Helicopter wings and they are going to mess up this car something terrible. Behold, I fly up the ramp, on pace to get chopped up, and the car actually goes through the helicopter wings as if they were even there. No contact, no nothing. Just a car flying through helicopter wings as if a bad glitch or something. I put the game down seconds after that. In order for me to pick up Motorstorm II, they will have to give me assurance that this type of wannabe next gen realism will not be in this game.

Thank God, I'm glad to hear that Motorstorm 2 will make it out before the end of this year because there has literally been no info about anything in regards to Motorstorm 2 and I'm VERY VERY glad to hear that it's making a 2008 showing.
However, in reference to the nameless title that was shown, Someone found an article on it, and they passed it along to me. In the article Phil Harrison was shown the trailer for the game and he was SPEECHLESS and he was totally blown away.

Motorstorm is good, but it really felt empty after a while. I do think that they might be able to make if great or close to in the second title. As for the unanounced game I really can't wait for E3, aren't we all really waiting for that TRUE Next-Gen tittle to come out? Uncharted was great and I bet GTA4 will be awesome, but I really wanna get that same feeling I got when Shenmue was coming out on the DC. I felt like I was gonna be able to jump into an actual world. Or the feeling of playing Mario 64 at Toys 'r us. This generation has been good, but I haven't had that feeling yet.

It's kind of surprising to see a Motorstorm sequel out this quickly. It hasn't even been released for a year yet. I'm not complainging though. I loved the first one and the split screen is going to kick some ***.
---
I can only speculate as to the other game and even though I haven't played SotC yet, I hope it's SotC 2.
***
@Xelios: The majority of dev time now is trying to get everything working on the Cell. With Motorstorm already having pioneered it for them, all they have to do is make the game.

F#$K I'm gonna need a better job for all the games I want to get this year, anyway YES Motorstorm 2 has split screen and on top of that another title for '09 that looks that impressive should really be good, also Evolution Studios is turning out like Insomniac with popping games out every year, which is great in my book bad in my wallet

If any game is gonna be more immersive and graphically impressive than I think Heavy Rain will be, I don't know what to say. Thats great about Motorstorm though. I don't know how they missed multiplayer split screen last time.

I expect Motorstorm 2 to be absolutely awesome. I loved the gameplay in part 1 but it was a bit shallow. More tracks, perhaps custom tracks, custom skins, custom vehicles, and a better career mode...and more. Yeah Motorstorm 2 is going to be sweet

www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4755645 This link will guide you through the EASY process of getting a brand new retail Playstation 3! Here is how it works! First and foremost this is NOT like those other offers you see all over the web, where you are required to sign up for a million "free" offers that end up taking forever and costing you a bunch of money and a headache. You click this link and sign up for their referral program. With this program you are required to participate in only ONE of their sponsor's offers, the one I chose was the yahoo success kit, which only cost $1.95. That’s all I have paid so far! Once you sign up for your ONE required offer you use the link they provide you and post it on forums, or send it to friends, and if someone uses that link to sign up and complete one offer of their own, you get a referral. Here is the cost breakdown of the referral system. 8 Referrals = New retail 40gb PS3 10 Referrals = New retail 60gb PS3 12 Referrals = New retail 80gb PS3 and ONE game of your choice 14 Referrals = New retail 80gb Ps3 and two games YOU CHOSE (includes new releases like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune or Ratchet and Clank Future etc…) Plus many more PS3 offers and others including up to $475 in CASH I have been a member for 3 days and have 10 completed referrals on my account, well on my way to my chosen 14 (Already enough for a 60gb or 40gb PS3). I also have 250 people, who have signed up; if any 4 of them complete an offer I have my Ps3 and two games. It can take up to 3 days for a completed offer to process, so I may have already reached my goal. The company even covers shipping and handling so there is no hidden costs of ANY KIND. This website even has you create an account so you can track your progress the entire way through, and once your package ships, they supply a UPS tracking link. It is extremely user friendly I recommend you research this company online, as they are proven legitimate and not in any way a scam. EGM magazine actually did a story on them 2 years ago to see if they were legit and did in fact get a free system, so they proved it worked! The way it is possible is these sponsor's pay this company money for referring people to them, and using a portion of that money, buy you a PS3 as an incentive for helping them advertise. It is a pretty nice scheme, but it results in me getting something for free so I don't care. This will be my third free thing to get from this company; I have a 360 elite and iPhone for the cost of about 5 dollars. Enjoy your free system, free isn't a bad deal for a great console and a Blu-Ray player! www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4755645
