CD Projekt RED has debuted the first proper look at its upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion, Songs of the Past, during GameCom Opening Night Live.

Songs of the Past is a noteworthy release as it arrives more than ten years after the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and was heavily rumoured for a number of months prior its official reveal. At the time, CDPR didn’t share many details about Songs of the Past, only starting that it involves the return of Geralt of Rivia as he embarks on a new adventure, and is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The new expansion is currently in development at CDPR and Fool’s Theory.
The Witcher 3 was released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in May 2015 and CDPR announced back in May that the game has sold 65 million copies worldwide. Looking beyond Songs of the Past, CDPR is currently working on the next brand new entry in the series, The Witcher IV, which has yet to attract a release date but the company has confirmed it won’t be out before 2027.
