After a disappointing delay with an upcoming MotorStorm 2 video, OPM has released some confirmed information for fans of the series. Unlike the desert-riddled atmosphere that dominated the original MotorStorm title, MotorStorm 2 is set to take place in a lush tropical environment. This will bring in new exciting hazards such as deep water, trees, and other tropical expectancies.
As for the vehicle aspects, you can expect to see a monster addition to the series as monster trucks make their way alongside the ATVs and rally cars. Evolution Studios as also added in new driver intelligence that will cause drivers to try and avoid cartwheeling vehicles.
With an expected video to be made public shortly, the article states that it will be in full CG, but you shouldn't worry since that is how the original MotorStorm was displayed and everyone knows how that turned out in the end.
There is currently a countdown taking place on threespeech.com that is speculated to be the countdown for the MotorStorm 2 debut video. Whether this is true or not, only the countdown can tell, regardless, once the video is made live and is available to the public, we'll be bringing it to you front and center.

CG? ugh... I was hoping for real time..
Heh, so it IS going to be CG. Thats sad. While I love the first motorstorm and it looks fablous, Its not what teh CG trailer showed in it's first outing.
Out of MS2 I hear we're getting 4player splitscreen. I also hope we get some more camera angles. One emulating the look from the driver's helmet looking at the steering wheel/road, one a bit closer to teh windshield than that and one just behind the driver's shoulder. :D That'd be awesome. DiRT has the camera systems down pat. They should learn from that. Would also like to see less random damage. I've done many a racer where one of my front wheels will catch something, snaping it and bouncing me in the air, but in the air... I explode in a mess of scrap metal... which is lame. I'm all for exagerated realism for fun but there's a point where it just becomes dumb.

Motorstorm + Tropics + Monster Trucks = Best Game Ever! Can't wait to get my hands on this beast!
Even though the ratiler is in Cg ( most game trailers are) we will still get a good look of what the gameplay will be like and the new tropical levels.
This game looks promising, Motorstorm was gud and fun, online was intence and Brutal lol! Though yeh i did miss the wet, puddles, rainy eather, and so on...I hope to see some great splashes, and dips and water canals and i hope the senery is as good as Drakes: Uncharted!

WTF!?, that was in 05. Why do they feel the need to do another cg trailer? Even with final hardware. This is what was postponed until this Wednesday? Ballin news.

Maybe we can get some weather this time. I loved the desert theme of the first but I want to see some weather. The island concept seems good as long as it doesn't turn out like Sega Rally Revo.
I hope this one is even better than the first one. I had a really good time playing Motorstorm. I think being in the tropics could be interesting. I just hope they aren't gonna rush this game. They have to change a couple things if they want to really impress me. But still, I'm sure Motorstorm 2 will be a blast.
