The sequel to the hit offroad racer is now officially titled as MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. Although this had been speculated for quite some time over the last couple of months, there was never an official announcement from the guys over at Evolution Studios (it was rumored to be MotorStorm: Pacifica). The title isn't all that shocking considering the entire environment for the sequel is set on an island in the Pacific and will feature lush forest races.
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is scheduled for release later this year and has finally implemented the splitscreen capabilities for up to 4-players at a time. With the original title moving over three million copies worldwide, we expect the sequel to do just as well if not significantly better than its predecessor.
As more information is released around this down-and-dirty racer, we'll keep you up to date.

this will be good, ofline miltiplayer was the one thing i really hated that the 1st didnt have
ya
okay cory46 your post was totallly irrevellant and i played the demo for the first one and absolutely loved it but after i heard about the the final edition of the game i was a little thrown off to buy since it didnt seem to offer me that much for my money but heres hopping that this one is better in every aspect besides graphics since there fine to me :)
Well, I've already seen that name for the new Motorstorm game on Gamestop's website since like, early this week but I guess it's good to get some confirmation on it.
heeh i'm waiting hee hee XD
Motorstorm 2: Pacific Rift sounds better, and new comers wont get mixed up with what one is the first one. If you get me.
what they need is that they should fill up 50gb of the BluRay too. First one I heard was MGS4. Next one was Resistance 2. I sure hope they fill this one up too.
Uhh wow, a little slow on that one eh PSU? I've known this since before the teaser trailer was released.
Actually, the rumored name was MotorStorm: Pacifica. Pacific Rift is the official name.
Hopefully, it will have custom soundtrax!
it sold over 3 million, because it was bundled with the ps3 =P
anyways, I think it woulda been cool to call it Motorstorm: Pacific Hit/heights/Hiss/something that starts with an H.
just so it's acronym can be MPH lol.
Awww... I like Pacifica more, but either way it looks wicked!
Split screen will be brilliant in this game. Its a shame they didn't include it in Motorstorm (1)
A pretty creative title compared to the dull "Motorstorm 2" title.
great heads up PSU. this one's gonna be great. a racing game to compete with Midnight Club Los Angeles later this year.
Very nice.
pacific rift sounds weird as a game title.. like a flavor of caprisun or something..
this sucks, i have the original motorstorm, and now theres this with split screen multiplayer....the problem is, i never knew that motorstorm was single player!
looks quite good
I had actually seen this about 4 days ago just surfing around. I loved the first one myself, even with all its flaws, and I intend to pick this one up on the release day.

@RyuStrife: 50GB discs are BAD for your console. The games are fine, but the read times are guaranteed a decent sized install on your hard drive. I don't mind with my 250GB HDD but the people who don't upgrade are going to have a hard time dealing with all these installs.
will get this on day numero uno......cant wait! especially with the addition of 4 way splitscreen.
