Need for Speed Undercover hits gold status

Electronic Arts announced today that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Need for Speed Undercover have gone gold, putting the hotly anticipated racer on schedule for its release in North America and Europe on November 18 and November 21, respectively.

Billed as a return to the series roots, Undercover has players cast in the shoes of an undercover police officer, who must infiltrate notorious crime syndicate located in the game’s fictional setting of Tri-City.

Gamers will be aided in their progress by Need for Speed girl Chase Linh (played by Maggie Q, who appeared in movies such as Die Hard 4.0 and Mission Impossible III), a federal agent who acts as your only link back to HQ.

In addition to PS3 and 360, the game will also made available for PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii, DS, PC and mobile formats.
