New Japanese PS3 Slim commercials are... different?

The folks over at Joystiq got their hands on Sony’s new “Playface” ads for the PlayStation 3 Slim. These Japanese TV commercials are certainly worth watching, but they are more than a little different.
It’ll be interesting to see the Western commercials for the PS3 Slim. Our favorite part is the elephant noises accompanied with a female gamer who appears a bit excited.

Seriously, I see those adds, I am changing the channel.
Why do Sony think they have to be so different to sell the console? Keep it simple. Keep it effective and show what your console can do, show the great games, the features. Not people apparently having sex with their consoles.

I love that ad that shows Warhawk, GT5P, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Spider-Man on BD and with a music that says "Ladys and Gentlemen, good evening", they should do a new version of it with Uncharted 2, GT5, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, MAG... Same music though =P would be awesome

and sony wondered why people didn't want to pay $600 for a console... hmm maybe its because you didn't tell them wt.f they were getting and capatalize on that, rather than making retarted commercials, that at time, made me embarrased to be a PS3 supporter.
Some of their commercials scream, only pedophile/drug addicted freaks buy PS3... oh and make sure to jerk off to soccer. (Let see who gets that last part)

yes! c'mon sony. have a fatty ps3 sitting next to the slim. it will explain it all. and you don't have to hire those krazy japanese people, to make faces. who is in charge of sony's advertising?? i want to write them a letter to tell them how much they suck at advertising.. . it's a ps3 slim. not a new console launch.. in a way it is. but, not really. the only thing that has changed. it's the price and size and the spider-man lettering has changed from what i heard. PLEASE SONY MAKE YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS BETTER!!!!

Alright, Sony has some of the strangest ads I've ever seen. Thay need to actually market the PS3 as a game system, show off the amaizng upcomign game, THEN show off the other features like blu-Ray. Then, pop off the Slim model in a fancy way at the end, with the 299$ pricetag zinging in. All with some good music blazing.
Anyone remember those older commercials where it had 'Ladies and Gentlemen' playing, and it had the top PS3 games at the time showing off in the background? That was an excellent commercial, we need more of those.

Certainly worth watching??? You like to watch the grass grow don't you? They are pretty bad. Games sell consoles, so show games, not weird people and goofy sound effects.

i think the commercials were awsome. why is everyone so close minded. whats so weird about it anyways? Im 25 years old and have seen a lot weirder @#$% than this in my life. You all are noobs. these commercials rock. Have a little vision will you.

It has to be said, the commercials are for Japan. We all know Japan has wacky and strange commercials, it's just what they've become accustomed to . You'd never see anything like that in Europe or the US I doubt. And also, why bother showing the old PS3 next to the slim one? The slim already has so much hype around it and if it is anything in comparison to the PSX and PS2 Slim then it'll be very slim indeed.
