Anyone who has tried Lego Star Wars would probably agree that the game is a fun and inventive way to game with not only your buddies but as a family as well. LucasArts then took it one step further by announcing Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. Not much info has been given on the title, yet recently the first concrete details around the game have emerged.

The game will be a parody of not just one of the famous Jones adventures but of all three that took place during the 1980s. The game is separated into three chapters which was expected and is being developed over 18 levels. The title will feature all of the main characters as well as famous scenes throughout the original three films.

Indiana’s famous whip will be a key tool for gamers as it will be used for attacking and latching onto the environment around him. A spade will also be a key tool as you will be able to dig for various treasures and weapons, as well as ammo. Unlike Lego Star Wars, Indiana Jones will have an ammo limit thus adding a tad bit more strategy to the gameplay.

In regards to Jones’ infamous fear of snakes, the game will feature a phobia mechanic that will render Jones absolutely useless when faced by his fear. This will involve taking control of another character, presumably his trusty sidekick in order to achieve your goal. According to developers and obvious comparisons to the Star Wars series, "Pulling levels to open doors, building platforms to reach them and then destroying them (and everything else) for studs has grown into something more open and explorative".

Another key note made was that this game appears to be funnier than the Lego Star Wars series however this will obviously be up to the player themselves.

If you’re wondering if the Nazi’s will be involved, they’re not. They’ve removed the Nazi group completely and Traveller’s Tales had this to say, "Lego having already replaced them with an anonymous genocidal, occultist, trenchcoat-wearing master-race.” They then went on to clarify, “…that said, we like to reinforce the fact that these really are terrible, terrible people"

The company understands that this seems like a jump up in maturity level over the previous games in the Lego brand but they’ve tried to cut it down so it doesn’t alienate any of their current fanbase and audience. They obviously don’t want to lose the grasp they currently have and added, "...and the more things we can keep intact about the formula, the better. If by some chance the game isn't a success, then we'll know it's probably something about Star Wars the works so well.”

The game is slated for a June release, so make sure to keep your eye out for it if you’re a fan of Lego’s or just Indiana Jones in general. We do our best to keep you updated throughout as more info is released.

Never played a Lego game but they must be pretty popular seeing as they have Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Batman.

It would also seem it's still too early to make a game with Nazis. Too bad. At least they were real.

I liked the Star Wars one a lot.  I'd like to get this one, but I won't get Batman, I think two is enough for me.  I enjoy the SW one, but you play it for the laughs.

This is a kid's game.  For humor, we need WhipLash 2!  Come on Edios, that was your best game! or did you go bankrupt?

I was surprised this game resurfaced in the news recently, I hope its something like Naughty Dog's Uncharted because I think that set the standard
