New Silent Hill: Homecoming footage released

All-new gameplay footage on Konami’s upcoming Silent Hill: Homecoming has surfaced following the game’s appearance at the San Diego International Comic Con over the weekend.

Seen below, the video depicts protagonist Alex Shepherd venturing through a nightmarish hospital setting, while battling against the usual array of grotesque creatures that have become synonymous with the Silent Hill brand over the years.

In addition, there’s also an interview with Homecoming’s Marketing Specialist, Grant Matson, in which he describes the various new gameplay mechanics that have been implemented in this latest instalment, such as the new combat system.

    It has some nice new additions like ducking & grabbing etc, but going by those videso, it looks as if they are missing the atmosphere of the old games. They still have the creepy environment, but its almost too cleanly designed, even though it has the appearance of grunge.

    I also noticed they are using the 360 version as the demo video....so does this mean its being designed on the 360 & ported to the PS3? Meaning it may just be the A-typical port of this gen with all the issues that go with it?

    I'll wait to see more before I even consider it as a purchase. From what I have seen so far, Siren actually looks more Silent Hill than Silent Hill does. I know...its early days yet...but still....

    It looks Like Sh**t.

    I like Silent hil 1 2 3 better.

    I didnt like SH4,and this one looks like CRAP.

    Whare dos the blood go?

    No Blood on floor when you hit  the dogs or the other monsters.?????

    I was looking forward for this,but after what i saw above,theres nothing we havent seen or done befor.In fact we done and seen better in SH 123.

    RUSH out GAME.

    Haven't played the first installments of Silent Hill, I can say unbiasedly that it looks ok.  It doesn't appear stellar, but it is not a finished product yet either so you can't judge it on textures, blood spills, etc...  How people can compare it to previous installments just by viewing extremely short videos of an unfinished product just amazes me.  I am looking forward to seeing the finished product and it will be a probable buy.  As far as Siren goes... I have only played the demo thus far before deciding to buy the game and I haven't liked it.  The control scheme for the character and camera sucks IMO.  However, I will try it again to see if I am doing something wrong before my final decision.

    I'm a big S.H. fan (especially 2), and I'm not sure about this game. When you have a main character that "can handle himself in a fight", it almost defeats the purpose of a Silent Hill game. When you're alone and helpless, that's when you're genuinely fearful, not when you see baddies and think "I can take them, bring it on!" It works for Resident Evil, but not for Silent Hill.

    it's a 360 footage, and multiplatform, of course the graphic is not going to be the greatest...

    Looks pretty good so far and im glad the main guy can defend himself instead of swinging objects like they weigh 100 pounds like in most survival horror games

    The graphics seem the same as PS2. silent hill 3 is the best in the series (my lovely Heather)

    There is only  so man Silent Hill games that can come out before it starts to get really old.  They should have just stopped at 3.

    Am I wrong to be slighlty aroused by the hot, but horrid, nurses? The last one he kills falls to her knees and it looks as if shes going to fall on her back, but she just kind of leans backwards. If you look close enough, you can see her 8008ies bounce.

    I think the film grain affect is kinda cool. Other than that I`m not sure.

    this is kinda bumming me out.....americans got a hold of this game for this go around and it probably wont be as scary.....Im a HUGE silent hill fan, ive been looking forward to a new one for years, i hope this one doesnt suck.  having a character that can handle himself like a soldier will probably take away that scary helpless feeling you got in the other games.  PLEASE DONT SUCK SILENT HILL!
