Naughty Dog has confirmed that although most of its attention is focused on the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the studio still has a small team beavering away on an as-yet unannounced title.
The revelation comes during a podcast chat with Game Informer, who quizzed Uncharted 4 co-writer, Neil Druckmann, on whether the former Crash Bandicoot developer still had a second team up and running following Amy Hennig’s departure.
"There’s always been a back-and-forth fluctuation: when Uncharted 3 was in the thrust of it, that had most of the studio working on it; likewise, at the end of The Last of Us, that had almost the entire studio. So there’s a very small team that’s working on some prototype stuff for next game-y thing, but almost everybody else is on Uncharted 4," Druckmann replied.
While there’s no clue as to the identity of this game, Naughty Dog did recently say it has put on hold potential ideas for The Last of Us 2 while it focuses on Nathan Drake’s latest outing.
Earlier today, it was revealed that the developer may not aim for 60fps with Uncharted 4, describing the process as ‘really f***ing hard.’
Uncharted 4 is due out exclusively on PlayStation 4 later this year.
