Next Metal Gear game to be PlayStation exclusive?

It appears that the next Metal Gear game, potentially Metal Gear Solid 5, will be a PlayStation exclusive.
IGN spotted a listing at a Japanese 7-Eleven database for the next issue of Famitsu PS3+PSP. The listing details the issue, which will supposedly reveal a new Metal Gear game. Another rumored game from a previous mag listing, a DS title from the Idol Master series, has since been confirmed, so the Metal Gear information should be accurate as well.
Kojima Productions has been teasing its next game on a flash website. On the website there's a countdown clock, which currently sits at just over six hours, and lightning that periodically flashes a '5' or an 'S.' When the countdown hits zero, we'll be sure to let you know what is unveiled.

It would make sense, if MGS4 is not possible on 360, but MGS5 is multiplat, that would mean MGS5 would have to be inferior to MGS4.

if you dont want another MGS game then dont buy it! I dunno why some people aren't all for it, i thought MGS4 was class!

@smithy we're not saying that mgs4 is bad or even another mgs would be bad it's just some of us would like to see something different from hideo (being the amazingly creative individual he is) Portehouse steak is freaking delicious but it still gets old after awhile

Dont Jinx it! But It would be crazy if it was. But I dont really think so after seeing some articles and how sony mentions that 3rd party exclusivity is almost non existant I doubt it will be an exclusive but we can dream.

I STRONGLY doubt that the next MGS will be PS3 exclusive. I'm almost leaning the other way in thinking that the 360 is about to get its own version of MGS4. Something like Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

It would be great if they concentrated efforts on a higher quality exclusive PS title. Maybe this time they'll have a streaming engine like Uncharted.

Hideo is a perfectionist and wants his game to take advantage of the latest technology, and PS3 is the one to offer it.
Plus, Kojima production already has a fantastic game engine up and running for the PS3, by the time his new game is released the Sony console will be top dog again...........It only makes sense

Man this is just the announcement... it's not like theres another MGS coming out in a few days. And I'm sure by the time it actually does release we will all be more than ready for it.

If this new Kojima game turns out to be ps3 exclusive then its going to take some the hype away from MS on June 1. June 1 being when the other timer(s) on the official Kojima site run out.

smithy2306, that makes absolutely no sense. "if you don't want another metalgear solid game, then don't buy it". I think what some people mean is, we don't want another metalgear solid game, we want a new game with a different story or a new story. Kojima said MGS4 was the last, he wasn't going to work on MetalGear anymore. If Kojima is doing a game, I highly doubt it will be a MGS game. MGS4 was suppose to be the last, if they decided to do more, then they are just milking it then.

Hmmm, not that i wouldn't mind a new MG game, im not sure Kojima should be directing this time, i wanna see him move on to other things, still, Playstation exclusivity, i'll take that anyday, sorry Xbots, why don't you just give up already, lets just hope this doesn't turn out to be false, still anything could happen i suppose, i guess we will all know in a few hours anyway

w/e this game is i hope its ps3 only! Some ppl dont want mgs5 they can screw them selves and play something else. Mgs4 did really good and if its mgs5 for only ps3 you wont be mad, trust me. kojima always makes a good game and we can expect the best out of him.

guys, what other kojima production games would have more than one sequal in it? MGS 5 , mkan people actually thought MGS 5 wasn't going to be An exclusive, wow. that's like saying we're getting halo 4 and it's going to be way better on the ps3. i just noticed at the teaser site, it's blank no clouds and no scene? updating it for tomorrow? i'm glad kojima san is doing yet another MGS game. oh and if you haven't seen Terminator 4 salvation yet. what are you doing here? GO SEE IT!! that movie is awesome. there's a part where it's freakin awesome. go see it!!

Well from what i see , it displays a "5" or "S" then "E" then "3" then something like a backwards "g", "9", or upwards "a". only thing i got from turning them clockwise or counter clockwise and fliping is MGS3 (metal gear solid 3) but i dont think this is all going to be about making mgs3 for psn or whatever. hmmm

Well now that i see that another 100+ hours are put on the wait i actually stayed and saw different letters from the flashing lightning......First in which all most likely seen is the 5 and or S but then there was a capital E then a lower case e followed by a 3 ....... therefore in my opinion im predicting that the e followed by 3 has to do with E3 this year concluding that there will b something Major leaked about this unknown sequel.....or maybe another prequel? what do you guys think?
