Everyone should've seen this coming. In last night's episode Saturday Night Live, Grand Theft Auto IV's Niko and Vlad appeared in a news broadcast skit complaining about the portrayal of Liberty City in GTAIV. People who have played the game should get the joke, otherwise it might not be worth watching.

Priceless. You don't have to get far into the game to really know what is so funny about it. But with what macphisto said, i guess SNL can't please them all.

Eh, what a disgraceful bastardation of what many consider as one of the greatest games, and indeed media entertainment, to have come out in recent history. This isn't so funny, and not in the least bit satirical. This was a cookie-cutter skit which would work just as well for Tony Montana, The Sopranos, The Goodfellas, et al. just by substituting the corresponding names. A major failure in SNL's usually praise-worthy parodies.

@MephistoSoze I feel like i should point something out just in case some don't get it. I TOTALLY agree with you about the "cookie-cutter skit which would work just as well for Tony Montana..." but since GTA IV is more recent, they chose it. The main thing they are actually parodying, is that their hand and limb movements are stiff & rigid. For such a modern and "Next-Gen" game, their movements should look more realistic. Instead, they look like marionettes (stringed hand puppets). Their dialogue was typical of the foreign gangster persona, but they choose to do so with the words they do to make it pertinent to the specific characters and add to their credibility that thay are in fact, from Liberty City.

the only thing I thought was funny was the hand movements, good job on that!  the skit was just ok though.
