Bayonetta developer Platinum Games has indicated that the company has no plans to release any downloadable content for the stylish PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 action romp.
Speaking during a panel at the San Diego Comic Con this week, the developer dismissed the need for microtransactions, insisting game will ship “with everything you want."
For those out of the loop, Bayonetta casts you in the shoes of a gun-wielding witch tasked with gory mission of blasting through legions of creatures masquerading as angels. Don’t for one second think it’s going to be an easy ride, though – according to director Hideki Kamiya, the game will prove “sadistically hard.”
Bayonetta is due out in Japan this October, with a western release scheduled for early 2010.

"insisting the game will ship with everything you want."
thats how it should be. its good that there is no DLC planned before even releasing the game, unlike some games currently 'under development' :D

i played the demo at comic-con. its got stunning colourful graphics and the combat is like a super refined and expanded version of DMC/Gaiden. This game is gonna be flucking amazing, and im glad they wont try to nickle and dime us. theres a ton of awesome combos and weapon pick ups. very fun scripped boss fights. and damn is bayonetta sexy. i actually played other action games, GoW3, Dante's Inferno, and Darksiders, and out of all of them Bayonetta is my #1 antisipated, yes you heard me its better then God of War 3.
and just so people know, i tried out the easy mode (sometimes action games are too hard for me to get into, like ninja gaiden) lemme just say, people afraid of frustrating games, DO NOT be afraid of bayonetta. when they say "easy mode" they mean it. it was actually too easy in my opinion. just thought id throw that out there.

Out of this, NGS2 and GOW3 i'm most anticipated for this.
Looks really refreshing for the genre and offers alot more then the other two, will be getting them all but Bayonetta is the one I want the most. I think it has a good chance of getting action game of the year.

The point is that the game shouldnt be desinged to bilk people over years by delivering a half finished product and then throwing the rest of it at us 6 months later. I'd be more than happy to support this game, Heck if they want to release a level pack a year later to extend the life of the game and convince people not to sell their old copies, I wouldnt even complain, but the key here is that it's not something that they're planning to do before the game is even out the front door.
This is how it should be done. Bravo Bayonetta devs, Bravo.

Well at first I thought it looked cool but its going to be "sadisticly hard" they just lost my 60$. Sadisticly hard games usually are not hard by being challenging and creative, they are hard by being super annoying. Stupid bosses that do the same movies over and over and kill you in 3 hits, yeah that sounds like fun. If it has an easy mode I'll rent it.

@12
i didnt say God of War 3 was bad. i loved it. but in my personal opinion, bayonetta is better. why? because its fresh and stylish. GoW3 is basicly just the same old game with better graphics. its fun, and i will still buy it, but i care more about Bayonetta, thats all.
@ 7
i dont really care if you dont believe me, im just throwing out my impressions for anyone interested. its common knowledge that bayonetta is at comic con, is it such a stretch that somebody on this forum happened to go there?

That's how games should be. The point of DLCs are to add things onto a game to enhance the experience because they were not available when the game was originally designed, not release things that were available at the point of the game's release seperately to get more money out of us. If developers want my money, they can design a full game (scary words there!) with everything in it. If they design any additional content after the release of the game to make my experience better (that they couldn't have included in the actual game), then great, but if they decide to develop game add-ons for a game that's still in production, well... they can go f*** themselves. If they continue to go that way, I can see them charging us for the empty disc in the future, then making us pay to download the actual content onto the disc. They'll probably charge us for the packaging and boxart too!
"How does £5 per level sound? Multiplayer? That's an extra £10. The disc itself will cost you £10 too, the box is £2.50, £5 if you want the instruction manual included. You want the story's conclusion too? £5, £10 if you want the twist: Your total gaming experience comes to... £150. We could have easily provided it for £40, but we just wanted to screw you over. Would you like that gift-wrapped?"
I hate game developers, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay for some gift-wrapping.
