Obama campaigns in Paradise City

While we hate to say we told you so, well, we told you so.

The streets of Paradise City just got a lot more political -- Barack Obama has begun to advertise within the popular racing title Burnout Paradise.

EA's communications director has said that EA will "accept advertising from credible political candidates. Similar to political spots on the television networks, these ads do not reflect the political policies of EA or the opinions of its development teams."

So, do you think there will be Trophies for driving through these billboards?

Man, this "fringe  hobby" really is a billion dollar land of opportunity for gain, isn't it?  The dollars.  Always the f-n' dollars.  Greed, like everything else it touches, ruined gaming.

Oh, God. This is sickening. I'm going to find that billboard and drive right through it. Stay out of my game, Obama, you bast@rd. Games are the only media format I can have some peace and not have to see his face. I have officially retired Burnout. At least new games are coming out this week.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TiQCJXpbKg   Let's not get into a political thing if we can avoid it, it divides everyone. On a lighter note, whoever you like or dislike, this vid is hilarious, McCain gets BarackRoll'd at his own rally:

It one thing to put a billboard in...it would be another thing to have the candidates actually race and send some smugshots as they are taken down.  How about an online race between the red and blue.?  Now THAT's making a statement about getting invovled and meeting people where they are : )

I've gotta say, this actually makes me pretty mad.  I don't want my game time invaded by crappy advertisements.  I already paid for the game, you don't need to be making another million dollars on a gay in-game advertisement.  Games should be like commercial-free radio in my opinion.

Anyway... How much freakn' money did that guy blow on this in-game add?  Maybe since he's so worried about the middle class he should go give them some of that $$$.

The biggest problem with this is that the election is over in a matter of weeks, what good will a campaign ad do when you are playing this title 6 months or a year from now. It'll be doubly annoying, they should have an online app that removes it after the election.

@ 5 I agree, Ron Paul would have been my choice too.  He was the only one who would bring actual change for the better.  The onlything "Change" about Obama's, or McCains platforms is the part where we'll all be homeless on the street holding up signs asking for "$ Change $".  If Ron Paul had won the nomination instead of McCain, Obama would have looked like a pro war socialist, which his is, but it would be more obvious if he wasn't next to McCain during the debates, who is an even bigger pro war socialist.  You don't need a Weatherman to know which way the wind blows.  With that said, these political ads seem interesting.  However, I better not be playing COD5 and see a McCain add on the wall of some building.  Still, if it brings more money in for developers to make better games, I'm for it.    Maybe they'll have a "Vote for Ron Paul" ad in Bioshock :)

Smashing through amricaine polticians faces could be a laugh, I don't care if it's obama or mcaine, I live in france, maybe for each country EA should put head ploticians so that we can smash up thier faces too, lol! Seriously I would of preffered either false adds like in GTA or realistic adds like levis, pepsi, nike etc!

@4 that's part of what ruined gaming.

You want to also add online play and the internet.

Not trying to bash online play, but back in the old days people didn't care about that so much, and it made most games creative. Now you have to have online, or your game sucks, or is behind.

The internet is also the blame cause people get on and voice their opinons about games which is stupid personally. Cause most people don't know, but developers look at sites like these, and listen to things that are said.
