Overlord heading to PlayStation 3? (UPDATED)

Overlord, developed by Triumph Studios, may be heading to the PlayStation 3 at some point in 2008, according to Internet reports.

News comes following a report on Dutch website PS3 Party, which states that the game – previously released on the Xbox 360 and PC – is PS3-bound and under publishing rights by Codemasters.

The title has sold over one million copies worldwide since its release in 2007, receiving mostly positive feedback from critics.

With no official confirmation available at this time, we advise our readers to file this one under ‘rumour’ for the time being.

UPDATE:

Videogamer has contacted Codemasters regarding the possibility of the game coming to PS3, and was given the following response:

"After the release of the Overlord: Raising Hell expansion pack on Xbox Live Marketplace last week, there's been a definite increase in interest surrounding the dark adventures of the minion master. However, although we won't comment on rumour and speculation, I can certainly confirm that you haven't seen the last of the Overlord just yet."

    WTF is wrong with you people!  Overlord is an awesome game! Gimme Overlord for PS3 just NO CRAPPY PORTS!

    A lot of you must share the same brain.  Coming out with this game for the PS3 isn't going to delay any other game they are making.  IMO, I'm glad they are coming out with this for PS3, the more game's the better.  

    I would like to know whats so wrong with this game.  It seem's this generation of gamers are so damn nitpicky that I am personally surprised some of you play games at all.

    @bigdoggy Its not that were nit picky, jesus i am 35 and have played a lot of games over the years, and in our god given right to have an opinion this one is just not very good is all.

    I watched a friend play overlord, looked interesting, but not enough for a buy, might pick it up for PS3 if it has the expansion, after it drops to 30 dollars.

    What kind of an update is that?!?!?Instead of giving an answer,they start to blab their mouth off about how it's such an awesome game and blah blah blah.Can't a dev/publisher give a proper answer?EVER?

    I heard this game wasn't so hot. I'd honestly rather see Dead Rising on the PS3, or even better: "Alan Wake".

    Guyz...Overlord is a good game, it's fun to listen to what your minions say while you kill, and plunder stuff.. This would be awesome on PS3!! I'd definately buy it.

    I have played this, great graphics good laugh if you liked baldurs gate you'll like this eight out of ten enjoyable.

    I agree, the more games the better. But Overlord looks/sounds like the Beowulf game.
