PES 2008 patch a possibility

Disappointing lag in Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 that affects both offline and online gameplay could be resolved by a patch, a Konami source has revealed.

The developer has received criticism from fans with the game suffering from frame rate issues and slowdown, leading some gamers to believe that the game was "rushed".

A message was displayed in the PES2008 online lobby apologising for the problems whilst suggesting that they are looking in to resolving the issues that are putting many people off participating online.

The problem isn't just restricted to online gaming either - even in offline play slow down can be noticed in crowded penalty areas, replays, cut scenes and even on certain types of grass texture.

It has forced Konami into considering the release of a patch to fix the problems in an attempt to appease fans that, on the whole, have been underwhelmed by this latest release, which has also been reflected in a number of professional reviews.

No time scale has been put on the patch, nor is it known how PES fans without an Internet connection are going to resolve these gameplay problems.

Patch it up, and ship it out! At least Konami owned up to it.

I agree.... this game was unforgivably not up to par and Konami needs to work as fast as possible to get the problem fixed.  It will be interesting to find out how Konami deals with those with no connection to the PSN... I suppose they could just download the patch onto a thumbdrive, etc. on any ol' computer and initiate the patch that way.

It's good at least that they're aware of the problem and that they're going to do something about it.

I played the game a lot and the online part sucks due to the online problems and yes the replays are a bit jerky. But im not bugged ingame with slowdowns? if I am I have not noticed it.. think i played 20 games in master leauge and a few training matches.
