PS3 had the best games in 2009

The PlayStation 3 garnered the top spot on Metacritic’s first annual Game Platform Power Rankings, beating Xbox 360, PC, and Wii. Of the top 10 games on Metacritic for 2009, the PS3 was home to five, taking the top three spots with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Street Fighter IV.
The Power Rankings are determined by Metacritic rankings for the year. The consoles were ranked not by quantity (the Wii had 362 titles in 2009), rather, by quality. The PS3 showed the highest overall game quality rating, even though the Xbox 360 had the highest number of positively-reviewed games as 88 titles received a Metacritic score of 75 or higher.
The PS3 had 10 games ranked “great,” while the Xbox 360 had seven and the Wii had one with similar rankings. The PS3 also only had 7% of its games receive a “bad” rating, while the Xbox 360 and Wii saw 11% and 13% respectively.

thats quite interesting actaually, just goes to show that reviewers arnt as biased as people suggest. mind due U2 is immense and probably bumped scores up abit. especially with 21/20

reviewers are very rarely biased its just people on this site like to cry when there game they spent the last year touching themselves over didnt recieve a perfect 10.
the ps3 and 360 had an absolutely stellar lineup this year with both exclusive and multiplat bu you cant deny the awesomess of games like KZ2 and U2

seem's like MS somehow overslept this year, maybe resting too much on XBOX360's success over the past years? Only thing really interesting to come is Alan Wake, which I highly doubt will ever come out, waiting soo long for it now it startin to pi** me off. I hope I do not have to sell it but at least with my PS3 I'm on the save side, always fresh and awesome games. Love how Sony improved since the launch which imho was rather weak.

i think that 2010 will be an even bigger year for playstation as a whole b/c of all the great games, such as GOW3 and MAG...list goes on and on...and the motion controllers and everything...even though i probably wont get them b/c i didn't buy a Wii for that reason,lol..but yea next year looks even more promising then this year b/c 2009 only had killzone 2 early on in the year, but next years got MAG and GOW3 right off the bat...

Apart from that, I guess 2010's gonna prove to be even better for the PS3. GT5, FFXIII(even tho not exclusive, quite probable to sell in favor of the PS3) , MAG, GoW3.. sounds good to me.

WHAT!!!!! Please, somebody slap this boy for what he said and show him the list for up coming games for 2010. Man, you have red dead redemtion , heavy rain, Rock star game, God of war, and FF13, FF13 versa, FF14 online......should I go on?? How can you call yourself a gamer and not know whats coming.

i wont be surpirsed if 2010 puts the xbox out of commision for good, the amount of awesome ps3 games due out then is astounding MAG, GT5, FFXIII, FFXIV, Heavy rain, GOW3. Theres already been alot of comments about the games for 2010 here but still. Hopefully this 2010 puts the nail in the coffin for the xbox.

PS3 has the best and "real" exclusives, all xbox 360 exclusives can be played on PC, so it's stupid to own a xbox 360. If you have a job and likes gaming, get a gaming PC instead.

I'm not surprised. There were only two exclusives worth mentioning on the 360, and one was practically a bloated expansion pack for Halo 3. PS3 brought the true quality along with quantity of amazing exclusives. If any other console was chosen, I would have ranted about how biased they were.

I own both and I agree with this article. PS3 had the strongest line up this year. U2, KZ2, and fat princess were enjoyable. L4D and Gears is fun on 360 but i think PS3 is the best.

It's funny to see that the best selling console (wii) has the worst games, just goes to say how many $tupid people there is on this planet, unfortunately I too I'm part of them having brought a wii too please my gilfreind but finally she prefers playing games on ps3 and loves games like wipeout & tekken 6!

The Only reason I have the 360 is for 3games, One of which i play most of the time, because its a fun game that takes skill to play, called Gears Of War2. But after playing the game for over the past few years, all i can say is Microsofts online user base, is full of the most NarNar's in the WORLD! There are more cheaters and idiots on 360 then anything i've heard or seen on PS3, i also prefer the online of the PS3 more, even if it doesnt have cross chat, and a better XMB... I Played enough on XBL to know that there is no real big difference between the multiplayer features on both systems but the cross chat, if that feature is avalible, i wont turn on my 360, and give up on gears of war, because it has more cheaters then an episode of maury. I hate how idiots think that the 360 has better online, cuz in reality it all comes down to the friends list. PERIOD, i have to many friends on ps3 and 360, so i must buy 2copies of a game that play's smoother IMO on ps3 because of me not having to deal with Modded controllers, or hackes, which still do happen, but the 360 is over flooded with idiots that do so.
