Today PSU.com launched their very own PS3 themes section. For all the PlayStation 3 owners out there, here can be your one central source for the latest PS3 themes.
Currently the design is basic. The themes can be uploaded by the users through this link. Requirements are as follows:
- Must have a title
- Description
- Preview Image
Over the next few days, PSU.com will be adding new additions and upgrades to the PS3 themes section such as "Credit to original author", " ability to add multiple screenshots of theme", and a "rating system". If you want to know how to create your own themes, you can read up on it here.
Here are links to the Themes:
If you need to know how to add a theme to your PS3, here are instructions:
How to install themes:
All themes files (.p3t) need to be saved to a memory card/HDD/CD/DVD/USB thumbstick, in the following directory structure:
/PS3/THEME/<theme file>
1. Create a folder titled: PS3
2. Inside the PS3 folder, make another folder titled: THEME
3. Put all the themes you have inside the THEME folder.
4. Plug your USB drive to your PS3 and on the XMB, select:
Then go to: Settings>Theme Settings>Theme>Install (hidden at the top)>
and then select your theme you wish to install.
Stay glued to PSU.com as themes are updated hourly and we'll be adding new features along the week.

Please make thumbnails for the links in the theme section. dont just scale huge images. it takes forever to load the page and wastes bandwidth (on my end and PSU's end)

1. Download a theme
2. Grab anything that will allow you to transfer files to your PS3, a memory stick for example.
3. Create a new folder on whatever your going to use to transfer the file. Name it PS3.
4. Create a new folder in your PS3 folder called "THEMES". This is case sensitive.
5. Place your new themes that you downloaded in the THEMES folder. Your tree should look like
Memory stick-->PS3-->THEMES-->yourtheme
6. Place memory stick in PS3.7. Then on your PS3 go to:
Settings > Themes Settings > Theme > Install -

wow this is not PS3 friendly at all, I get the same error message this other guy is getting. Also, if you try to click on any of the "most popular" themes, you are taken to a wallpaper... annoying. PSU needs to fix it. Other than that, I'm seeing themes I've never seen before, kudos! Just make it PS3 browser friendly!

straight up....I"M OLD TESTAMENT. not many people play games but i will bad mouth EA for the rest of this generation for having bad frame rates. THEY ARE GREEDY CREEPS. infintiy ward shows respect to players, veterans, and there craft. EA and MICROSOFT are in merge talks - this framerate issue they fabricated will prove the nonsense....look up "peter moore" if you do not beleive.

look-look silence SILENCE....now do any of you realize that wen you go to download somthing and it says insert storage media to save destination AKA you cant save it to the hard disk and wen that happens wat does that mean? it means that watever file type that of wich youve tried to download is not a file type that the ps3 supports, now if i cant save this theme DIRECTLY to my hard disk then it means there file types that it doesant support, but i know of some infact all the ones i have are ones that people have created and put in links to in the psu forums section, i tried doing it through a computer idownloaded it created a file called PS3 then i made a file in that folder called THEME and then i put the theme in the THEME folder JUST like it said to then i copy the folder to a memory stick then i put it into my ps3 searched it for the theme and nothing was there, so anything that you cant download DIRECTLY to the hard disk is a file type that the ps3 doesant support. and i cant download psu's theme to the hard disk so the file type must have been changed somhow because all the ones that the other members have posted links to that theyve created have worked fine. so wats the deal?

Can we have a top Download and Recent upload section? Top 5 would be great, it jus looks very messy at the moment. Also maybe a category section ie Games, sports, cars etc.
Thanks!

@IONIXX I can download onto a memory stick on my computer from PSU.com and then when I put said memory stick into my PS3 it works just fine, personally. And when I try to download directly to PS3 hdd, II just get a download error, it never even prompts for destination. So I dunno what's going on with your PS3.

Great, though I accidentally added my theme after someone already did, if any mods would like to, please remove the copy of "The Final Fantasy Theme".
