Paul Anderson hints at fourth Resident Evil movie

MTV’s Movie blog is reporting that director Paul W.S Anderson is considering the possibility of returning for a fourth instalment in Sony Pictures highly successful Resident Evil movie franchise.
Anderson, who directed the first adaptation of the Survival Horror series in 2002 and subsequently went on to produce it’s two sequels, revealed, “I’m just starting to talk to Sony about it.”
“I don’t even know if anything will come of it, but there’s a possibility it might happen.”
Despite his enthusiasm for the franchise, Anderson was keen to point out that the right script would have to be in place in order to pursue the project, adding, “I love the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise and we always try to make the best possible movie we can. If we could find a good ‘Resident Evil 4’ to make, then we would do it.”
“But I wouldn’t just do it for the sake of it, that’s for sure,” he said.
Aside from his involvement in the Resident Evil series, Anderson previously worked on the film adaptation of Mortal Kombat in 1995, and is currently lined up to direct the forthcoming Spy Hunter movie.
An all-new CGI motion picture, Resident Evil: Degeneration, is currently scheduled for release some time in 2008.

no. someone told me when i worked at walmart that it sucked and not to waste my money on it. it did look kind of stupid to me, glad i wasn't driving at the tyme.. i need it back before july 18th before the dark knight comes out!!!

if its a copy of the resident evil 4 GAME then id love to see it, but if it carries on with the stupid current storyline then no thanks.

i love all the movies i can't wait for this one :) aswell for the CGI movie ^_^
i really don't know why people hate the RE movies so much i mean i know it has nothing to do with the game story but it sure is well done now if you say this is a bad movie then watch blood rayne or something your see what really is bad lol i myself am a fan of RE i have played almost every game the story in the movie may be a bit off but some characters from the game do show up at the end as for Alice she's new and really dumb good :P
Sony seems to be doing a good job for now hope they keep it up.

If they do a new movie they need to stop folloing the old movies and start fresh with new series following RE4 and RE5 I would go see it. I like the first two the third one was real bad.

@Maxkiller, I agree with you even though the RE movies don't follow the games I still think the movies are great and you cannot stop at the third movie because it was completely setup for a fourth one and after watching the third one I just figured there was going to be another one.

The movies weren't that bad. Very entertaining, even if the stories from the game were very loosely followed. I own all of them and would be looking forward to a 4th.

i feel exactly the same about this when i saw that Uwe Boll wanted to do a GTA movie. WHY??? UR MOVIES HAVE ALWAYS SUCKED, WHY DO U TRY TO DESTROY GOOD GAME FRANCHISES?????? my two cents...

Those movies suck so bad, to the point that this article makes me angry. RE is one the best game franchise ever and hollywood comes along and takes a perfect formula and twists it into some lame story and hero that a 5th grader probably came up with. Just an American bastardization of anything else that comes out of Japan.

i dont know why people are angry about this, The resident evil movies were all AWESOME.
plus i dont think the producer was trying o follow the story from the games anyway
it was a movie on its own and it rocked.
I like sci fi movies and the trilogy(about to be a quadrilogy if 4th one comes out) was awesome..i watched each of the movies like 2 times
@Maxkiller i pretty much agree with you
all three movies ROCKED, for ppl that love scifi disaster type movies with a lil bit of futuristic feel to it and lots of action they should love this trilogy
i dont know why people hate it so much, it wasnt made to follow the game story!!!

PLEASE, NO!!! FOR THE LOVE OF MANKIND!!! The first movie was "meh," the second movie was "bleh," and the third movie was "wtfux?!" I have horrific nightmares of the doctor-gone-crazy-zombie in the third film...shooting his finger tentacles at me....NO MORE RESIDENT EVIL MOVIES PLEASE!!!

Movies aren't that bad. Although they don't follow the games by much. But people must like them, cause they do pretty well.

Am I the only one which enjoys the movies? I mean yes sure there not as great as the games[since when was a movie any good as the game, funny that it works both ways huh?], but I still find the Resident Evil movies to be very action packed fantastic movies. Then of course with Resident Evil[CGI one]which is coming out that IS based on the events after Resident Evil 4, that just makes me even more happy.

The ONLY way or REASON for them to make another Resident Evil is to do an entirely new ORIGINAL script... Like go back to Racoon City and the mansion were Resident Evil started as a gaming franchise. And do that right and make all our RE fans happy...
