The 2008 Consumer Electronics Show will take place January 7-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Not only is CES the first major convention of the year, it is one where many industry enthusiasts from all corners of the world gather to geek out on what is coming in the world of technology.
The big names from various industries will be in attendance including Dell, IBM, Logitech, Nvidia, and Sony to name a few. While all exhibitors will feature eye-catching demonstrations, our focus is on Sony and their plans for the PlayStation 3.
So what does Sony plan on showing off in relation to videogames? Well SCE plans on bringing three titles to show off behind closed doors. These three titles are MMO, The Agency, which is a game focused in the underworld of spies and mercenaries. The other two games are MMORPGs, consisting of Free Realms and Pirates of the Burning Sea, all of which is expected to release in 2008.
Please do not expect everything to be about the PlayStation 3 or PSP as this is not a gaming convention like E3, but rather a consumer electronic event (hence, the title). Sony will be showing off an array of products from TVs, cell phones, and cameras.
While not in attendance this year, PlayStation Universe still plans on bringing you the latest from the show instantaneously for your viewing pleasure. For more about Sony at CES, please visit their official Sony @ CESS 2008 website.

Ahaa... Will they primarily show off PS3:s media capabilities then? Like the new DivX thingy?
Actually, the thing I'm most concerned about now would be Warner's decision of whether or not to go to Blu-ray. I really hope they do as this would put major strain on HD-DVD and could possibly end this little war.
psn id: gingo.... i'll be looking forward to hearing more about The Agency because that first trailer looked awesome
Not only is this bad news for us gamers who have been more then patient waiting for this game to come out, but its bad PR. Delays Delays Delays when it comes to PS3. Whats next, MGS4????
They may focus more on there blu-ray lineup perhaps.
So really this post is saying to us not think about the convention too much cause Sony ain't showing much...
