According to reports from yesterday’s Destination PlayStation conference, Sony is planning a graphical overhaul to its online PlayStation Store to coincide with the North America launch of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on April 15.
Details are sketchy at present, although sources suggest that the company is planning on mimicking the look of the SingStore (used in conjuction with the PS3 title, SingStar) Navigation will supposedly be transported to a series of icons along the bottom of the interface.
Be sure to stay tuned for further information, and check back this Thursday for our weekly PlayStation Store updates for both North America and Europe.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the current one. Just bring us the XMB!

I guess a change wouldn't be bad, not that theres anything wrong with the current one. I think I'll appreciate a flashier page.
Fewer clicks to get to the download would be good, tho. And maybe they can let the PS3 cache the images or something so it doesn't take too long to load on slower internet lines?
as long as its for the better i wont mind.
That is good. PS Store has already been pretty comfortable. I have a Xbox 360 as well and the marketplace is just a maze of names and categories. They offered a new update and fixed much of the maze but I like PS for its simplicity and pictures. Its like in a itunes shop style of way. The singstore looks very awesome but very similar to the current one as well.
nothin wrong with the current one, but I'm always up for optimization :) Perhaps they can let us keep the old one, should we hate the new =P?
As my grandmother once said "a change is as good as a tonic"
A flashier page are always welcome! At least in my point of view.
The current look is fine. Sony please listen to us. What we really want is in game XMB!!! Fans are begging for it. You have time for a graphical update of the store but no time to give us in game XMB? Guess well have to wait...
Did anyone hear about the EU giving Microsoft a Fine of 1.2 billion dollers! Check It out at Yahoo.com!
No no and no, the PS store does not need a new look....what the Playstation store needs are alot of great content to purchase. I am a big playstation fan boy, and its bad when I envy all the good games thats available and announced for xbox live arcade. Come on Sony...wtf is wrong with you...we want Ikaruga too (>.<) dammit! ....lol
psn id: gingo.... good becasue the current interface is slow and quite annoying to use it definetely needs an overhaul and i'm glad sony have saw this
i knew they were going to do this soon should b cool.
Once again we hear rumors of a PSN store overhaul......................
The current one looks reli bad, hope this new one will be better.
This is great. Hopefully the new one will be more organized. the one we have now is clunky. Its difficult to find a specific update/title/add-on and we don't even have a search box for crying out loud.
In-Game XMB has already been confirmed, along with people saying they understand people want it, so sitting here crying about how bad you want it won't do you any good. When they want to release it, they will....and not until then.
Yet again the release date for GT5P is April 17th.

I like the store now but it was due for a redesign, like I've been saying all along.

NEWS Here's the article reccodog failed to post. Microsoft fined $1.3 billion for market dominance (monopoly.) Cheers. Maybe no more Yahoo! buyout threats? I can only hope.

@ignignort: Quit trying to promote your website on here.
yay!
That's cool. I guess.
The PSN really needs an overhaul, its not setup very well, this will be a welcome change.
Too many ppl throwing a tantrum over not having in game XMB yet, what a stupid feature to act like a 6 year old over. Personally I could care less if we ever got in game XMB access.
I'm all for upgrading, but there's not much wrong with the current one. I do think they should put a search box on there to make it easier to locate the items you want. Seems they should have been able to figure that out on their own. I just hope that if they do change it, hopefully it won't be for the worst. I think Sony is doing just fine though. Keep the faith.
kool! yea this last weeks have been slow lately
i hope if they do this they let us customize out own store that would be sweet
Finally a much needed update. The current look does not fit Sony's sleek modern design ethic. I'd actually hope for something in line with the playstaion web site design.
