Still unsure if you should pre-order Killzone 2 from GameStop in order to procure your copy of a Killzone 2 demo ahead of the title's launch? Your decision may have just gotten a heck of a lot easier as Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has confirmed that the PlayStation Store will not receive a demo of the title until after the game has hit retail shelves. With that said, the idea of getting your hands on the game a couple of weeks earlier is starting to seem a lot tastier.
According to an SCEA statement, "The demo will be available on the PSN after the game ships but only through GameStop until then."
Codes can be expected to become active roughly around February 4 or so. If you decide to pre-order the title online, expect the code to hit your Inbox during that time period. Otherwise, head to your local GameStop in about a week in order to get your hands on a hot commodity.
This is a great opportunity for those who missed out on the beta to see what all the fuss was about. Plus, the USD 5 you throw down to pre-order is going to go to the purchase of the game anyways, right?

okey so they release the demo after the actual game hits stores? yer that's quite logical if you ask me - this way they ensure that everybody buys the game on behalf of it's hype without having tried the game in advance. Ok I know that KZ2 will deliver everything it promises and it will be a big hit but still it's kinda against the nature to release the demo after the game and they kinda punk their customers imho...

@Strudel: Because we spend more money on gaming than most other territories in the world combined?

Killzone 2 Is a European made game, I think We should of had the demo Pre-order bonus aswel.
Plus We pay more for our ps3's and games then any country In the world. Where more loyal to Sony than US are.

Killzone 2 is being made in Europe, yeah, but guess where the vast majority of Killzone 2's sales are going to come from? America. Europe paying more for PS3's doesn't mean anything for loyalty because far fewer people in Europe have a PS3 than here in America. Regardless, loyalty doesn't matter when we're talking money. Ask Nintendo.

Yeah, and whatever to all you Europeans complaining anyway. It actually looks like the demo will be releasing earlier in Europe. PSU is just slow to get news, as always. It looks like they're trying to exploit Americans by forcing us to preorder for all sort of underwhelming garbage and they're just going to give you the demo for free, before the game's out, so you have nothing to complain about.
Like Jeff Gerstmann said, I can't really understand why Sony's doing this when they should practically be forcing PS3s to download the Killzone 2 demo. They should be shoving this thing down people's throats BEFORE the game is out. They should be paying GameStop to give the demo away for free to anyone who wants one. They should be paying Wal-Mart to do the same. Stuffing it into boxes of cereal with notes saying "BUY THIS GAME PLEASE IT'S AWESOME."
Not forcing people to jump through hoops to play it.
