Rainbow Six Vegas 2 still on track for PS3

Posted on December 3rd, 2007 at 11:58 EDT

French publisher Ubisoft has listed the PlayStation 3 version of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on its official website, squashing recent rumors suggesting that the title would be an Xbox 360/PC exclusive.

Rumours that the PS3 version had been delayed or even dropped started circulating last month after only the PC and 360 were mentioned on the game’s product page on Ubisoft's website. The Ubisoft product page still remains the same, only listing the Xbox 360 and PC versions, but now the PlayStation 3 version appears on their release list.

PlayStation 3 owners can now look forward to getting the game at the same time as their 360 counterparts, which is fair considering the last version of the game was released much later than the Xbox 360 version (the 360 version was released on November 21, 2006 while the PS3 version wasn't released until June 26, 2007).

The sequel will look to pick up the storyline following the Rainbow team that is dispatched to Las Vegas, Nevada to defeat international terrorist Irena Morales and her massive army of mercenaries that is repeatedly attacking key locations in the city.

Well I got rid of R6V because of it's crappy online. Let's hope Ubi does this one differently and actually makes it so we can select from a list of lobbies. I gotta wait to see how the online plays out before I can even be hyped for this.

I'd rather get it for X360. The lack of a trigger-feel of the SIXAXIS controls kills it for me.

I do like the Ghost Recon games for the PS3. Haven't played anything online and you would think they'd do a really good job. I miss the old Rainbow Sixs for the PC. Those by far are the best!

The reason why the ps3 version cam e later was, is because ubisoft didnt have any ps3 dev kits to start development.

no fcking duh it's still on track for PS3. We knew this from the time the actual rainbow six site said PC and NEXT GEN CONSOLES. I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about the Wii, so everyone new it was multi platform. BTW, this news is a week and a half old.

And @FantasyStar - The Sixaxis HAS triggers you dumbfck. I know many people who like the Sixaxis controller better, even on FPS's. I know I sure as fck do.
