Resident Evil: Degeneration Blu-ray details released

Capcom has unveiled all-new details regarding the forthcoming Blu-ray release of its CGI movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration.

According to a post on the company’s official blog, the upcoming horror flick will support video in "1.78:1 1080p AVC", accompanied by an "5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack."

Resident Evil: Degeneration takes place seven years following the destruction of Raccoon City (as depicted in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis), and follows an outbreak of the T-virus at an unknown airport somewhere in the United States.

The film signals the return of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who previously appeared in Resident Evil 2, as they attempt to neutralize the threat before the virus escapes, causing a nation wide epidemic.

Resident Evil: Degeneration hits Japanese theatres next month and will be coming to North America on Blu-ray later this year.

    I can see that boosting PS3 RE:5 sales just because of the Blu-Ray angle.  Good move on Capcom's part.

    Dave, just buy the Bluray. You can watch them on standard definition TVs until you get an HD set. That way you don't have to buy the movie twice

    This movie looks more interesting than the other 3 Resident Evil movies all together, its sad but true.

    psn id: gingo.... i think videogame movies should all be done in CG rather than with actual actors, i'm not saying this will be any good but at least it will look like the characters

    i think you can watch blurays on stdarad tv.s they just won't come out as good as the should and as they would. lol

    day 1 purchase! blu ray resident evil experience with my favorite character claire redfield. too bad i couldnt give a damn about RE 5.

     Yes you can watch bluerays on sdtvs, it just looks like a dvd. once you get an hdtv it goes to hd and looks a billion times better. don't buy dvd's anymore if you've got a ps3.

    yes i assure you all that blu-ray plays just fine on ANY tv...   just like the games do.

     

    of course it will look better on a high def tv...but you dont need one.

    Its too bad RE:5 is so far off or they could slip a PS3 demo into the blu ray.

    It's not coming out to theaters in europe? too bad, I'll just have to wait to buy it when it comes out in EU, too bad the films are region locked!
