The chaps at StickSkills are reporting that the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine U.S. has the skinny on Slant Six Games’ long-rumored Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
As previously reported, the game takes place in fall 1998 during the midst of the T-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City – only this time, you’re on the other side of the fence as a member of Umbrella’s Security Services Squad.
Playing as the bad guys, gamers are tasked with eradicating evidence of Umbrella’s involvement in the whole affair, which basically has you gunning down survivors among other things. Apart from zombies, Tyrants will also be making an appearance.
However, you’ll also have to contend with a U.S. spec ops unit as well as the myriad of bio-organic weapons (BOWs) rampaging through the city streets. Your team has four members – Vector, Beltway, Bertha and Spectre – with each one offering different goals to tackle.
The juiciest part, however, is that you’ll apparently be able to “change the history of Resident Evil,” based on your actions, with the mag claiming many familiar faces will show up in the game – and you’ll even be able to kill them.
The game’s out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall.
