MTV Games has confirmed that it has postponed the Canadian release of Rock Band until December 17.
Speaking to website Shacknews, no reason was given to the delay, but it was stated that it affects all platforms, meaning the title will not arrive in any shape or form until its rescheduled date.
Rock Band is the next logical and evolutionary step in the music simulation genre, allowing gamers to chose to participate as not one, but three members of a rock group - lead guitarist, drummer or lead singer. The game presents an array of specialised accessories attributed for each role, such as a wireless microphone, drum kit and guitar.
Similar to Guitar Hero, gamers must play their instruments in conjunction with the on-screen music notes to rack up their score in a number of single and multiplayer gameplay modes, including Solo Tour, Band World, Head-to-Head and Tutorial Modes. Online play has also been confirmed
Rock Band is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on November 20, with a PlayStation 2 version arriving on December 18.
