Konami has revealed that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on PS5 — which is arriving as part of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 — will run at 4K/60 FPS.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a major inclusion in this collection as it’s the first time that the game has been made available outside of the PS3 since its launch in June 2008. It’s also the conclusion of Solid Snake’s part in the saga, so it’s a significant entry in the franchise in terms of narrative. The collection also includes Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, which also runs at 60 FPS on Sony’s current-generation system.
While we’re on the subject of Metal Gear Solid 4, it’s been confirmed that the iPod from the original PS3 version of the stealth-action title is making a return for this remaster.
Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 will arrive on August 26, 2026 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. In addition to Metal Gear Solid 4, the bundle also includes Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
