SOCOM: Confrontation to get Trophies via patch

Those of you who picked up SOCOM: Confrontation this week will no doubt be aware that the game is currently devoid of Trophy support.

Fortunately, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has confirmed that this feature is to be incorporated shortly via a post-release patch, though an exact release date has yet to be divulged.

"The Trophies will become available via patch in the coming weeks," said SCEA’s Jennifer Clark.

However, it is unknown if players will have to start from scratch to earn the new Trophies (a la Uncharted: Drake's Fortune) or if pre-patch stats will count, automatically unlocking specific Trophies.

We have contacted SCEA for an official comment.

     I wonder why it's so hard to add trophies before releasing the game. Shouldn't be that hard.

    has anyone read any reviews on this game yet?  I mean if IGN didnt get a hold of it, how are we supposed to get a general consensus if the game is good or not.  I dont rely on reviews per say, but im not gonna blow 60 bones on a game that has glitches out the wazoo on it.

    Patches = Lazy Developers. Slant should have released the game with trophies, but unfortunately they're just like the other 90% of developers....LAZY

    I have been a socom veteran since 1.  This game is very good to all who are interested in it, but it does have some issues.  As long as I can remember, socom has always had issues when it launches.  When Socom 3 came out, mics did not work for almost a month!  This is a good game WITH PROBLEMS that I truly feel will be addressed shortly.

    they should solve the problem with the servers before the god damn trophies, i tried getting into games for an hour before giving up and playing dead space instead. in the lobbies the only thing ppl were talking about was not being able to get into games because the servers were messed.

    @1

    I am wondering the same thing. It seems like every single game that's released on the 360 has acheivments of some sort. It's just funny because Sony seemed to have been working on this trophy system for quite some time(just one of the many things that SHOULD have launched with the console!). Seems like Sony really just can't get their act together. I know the dev's are responsible for including them as well, but I am assuming that sony's implementation strategy makes it difficult for developers to do so? Who knows?

    The game layouts and maps are pretty cool. Before they worry about trophies, they had better improve the servers. Many of us are tired of the lags, being booted from the game and/or server, and entire system freeze where a power reboot is necessary. That can't be good on my 500 dollar system.
