According to GameStop, SOCOM: Confrontation has had its release date pushed back an entire month in order for the team over at Slant Six to remove any technical issue that may still be lingering with the game. This news came to light when preorder customers received phone calls notifying them of the change of release.

With an expected release date sometime within the month of September, the title has apparently been pushed to October 14. Though there has been nothing confirmed in regards to this change, it is believed that the Official SOCOM blog will have an announcement regarding the situation tomorrow.

    I knew with the good news of 2.40 coming out that there had to be some bad news to deal with. I hope that they figure out the problems and put the beta out soon.

    Will people who subscribe to Qore get this beta first? If so that is lame.

    As long as they are truly improving on it its worth the wait. Just make sure its not another one of those haze issues.

    this might have a tiny bit to do with the 2.4 updaye with them having to program in trophys to there games who knows. but at least it will make the game better.

    Ahh, oh well. If it's a good enough game, it won't matter.

    @5

    SOCOM isn't a 1st person shooter.  Know your Playstation history.

    Anyway, this is me being surprised...not.  It's not that long of a delay and this is a good time (months ahead) to let people know as well.  I mean, if they told us 6 weeks ago that it was coming out in October (instead of September 16th), no one would have cared.

    maybe they can improve the graphics a bit more, im definitly buying this day one, and i know this isnt always the important issue with socom games as the way they play is more important, but im not that impressed visually so far

    @ 10

    It will be a PSN downloadable game and they will also sell it retail in the form of Blu-ray which will come with a Playstation brand bluetooth headset.

    I would almost bet that this is because of the headset coming with the game in stores along with them wanting to make sure the game is as close to being flawless as possible( No Game Ever Is). Over on the Socom.com blog they had a post not long ago about the bada** bluetooth headset coming with the game and that it was still in its final stages before mass production.

    How about they improve the graphics. For starters. Then improve the technical issues.

    Delay for about 3 months.
