SOCOM patch not arriving until the New Year

Sony has confirmed via the official SOCOM: Confrontation message board that the early-awaited patch 1.30 will not arrive until January.

Disappointed? Then blame the Holiday rush combined with Sony’s lengthy approval process.  Said the company:

"Unfortunately, due to the Holidays the update will not be approved by SCE Format QA until early next year. Our QA staff will be here, testing the game over vacation, but the SCE QA teams which must approve the update before release will not."

The good news is you shouldn’t have to wait too long, with the patch now scheduled to appear during the week of January 5 – January 12. Hopefully Sony will nail down a fixed date in the next week or so.

We’ll keep you posted.

Haven't picked this up and doubtful I will after the problems at the start.  Some people may be a little annoyed this won't be ready for Christmas.

just to let you guys know the problems at launch have been fixed for months now, it really is a great game definitely worth the price, this update just adds a bunch of exta features that the players asked for its a massive update so the wait due to the holidays is very understandable like i said the game is very playable as is, i recommend it

Good news as I have had my opinion changed about this game.  It's very good and I'm glad I didn't follow the immature hype.

It seems like not alot of people know they already patched the game from the problems at launch. This patch is for trophy support and other stuff.

man that was surprising, after backing up the game itself why should i need a frigging patch if the game isn't for sale in my country... you stupid electronic arts giving the game away to a different developer.. maby  the game is good. but the game is half as good as it could have been, IF they brought it out on time. i can only play this game imported.... BRING THE F***ING game out already, it is playable it is my fav shooter. and now this BIG DISSAPOINTMANT after socom 3... man socom 3 was bad, and this is even worse... come on you people. make my day..

I think if anything this game needs more maps. I would like to see some jungle and snow maps similar to the socom 2 maps.
