SEGA has today confirmed that the company is developing a sequel to the 2006 gravity board racer Sonic Riders for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii.
Titled Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the game will be based in the same world as the original, with players assuming command of a variety of characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe as they are once again locked in fierce contention at super sonic speeds. Details are sketchy at present, but the developers let slip that the title will feature "unique gravity control moves" to distinguish it from its predecessor.
"Speed and agility is what built the Sonic franchise. Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity offers long-time Sonic fans, and newcomers alike, the adrenaline-pumping gameplay and moves that made the blue hedgehog famous, while adding a plethora of completely new elements to the Sonic world. Packed with new and innovative features, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity delivers a rush that gamers can't resist”, commented SEGA of America’s Vice President of Marketing, Scott A. Steinberg.
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is currently scheduled for release in North America this February. Stay tuned for further information as it becomes available.

psn id: gingo.... i have not liked a sonic game since the original 2d side scroller so i dont this will make me feel any different to sonics new approach
one more sonic no we dont need it they should do what they did with sonic adventure 2 that was good make a part 3 to the for the ps3 it was a really fun game
it always sounds like the next sonic game is gonna be badass and "adrenaline pumping speed" but i never see it, i think fans are developing sonic games out of their own money within their companies just to make them, i know no one that likes a sonic game besides the srollers
The scroller days were by far the best.. Sonic has unfortunately lost his touch.. from once mascot of the Sega franchise to.. well, now nothing. Developers have really shot their own character in the foot.
I like how many wii games are made on the ps2 also we get the best of both worlds.
SOunds fun to me.
